I made a reservation to stay at this place July 22-25 in room 203. On the 22nd I arrived and was not able to get in with the code they provided. I want to say that I am a travel nurse and have stayed in plenty of Airbnb’s, this was the first time I was not able to get in with a code that was provided. I contacted the person at the number given, the man never gave his name. He stated, at first, to go around to the back alley and there I could get a “key.” Once I got back there, I let him know and he changed his mind and said “well can you stay on the bottom floor for tonight.” Although I hesitated, I agreed. Once in I checked the kitchen window, it was locked and I looked around the place. The front door was shaky but I have an alarm that I put underneath the door that sounds if someone comes through opens the door, so that did not bother me as much. Around 10 p.m. I remembered I did not check the room or bathroom windows. In the room, there are two windows side by side. The one on the left did not lock, neither did it have a screen on it. The bathroom window as well did not lock, have a screen or blinds or curtains. I immediately got on the website and sent a message. I felt unsafe and did not sleep that night. In the message I told him that I felt unsafe and that I would be leaving the next morning and that I wanted a full refund. The next morning, I received a message stating I hope you are enjoying your stay. I immediately sent a message back that I was not, I explained the situation again. He said he would send someone over to look at the windows. He later, send a text stating the windows were closed permanently and that he would not be able to give me a refund. I told him that the windows were not permanently closed unless they just fixed them. In the meantime, I left my gun at the establishment on accident. He sent a picture asking if it was mine and I applied yes. I then asked him if he could meet me at the establishment so that I could show him the windows and at that time get my gun. He agreed to 315pm. At 315, he was not there and neither were my gun. I also went back to the windows that he stated were “permanently closed” and they were not. I did take pictures and videos, if anyone would like to see. I started calling him over and over again and he would not answer. After about the 6th time he answer and says did you get the picture I sent to you? My response was hold on let me look. He sent a picture of cover/sheet and told me my gun was wrapped up in that outside in the laundry room. I was very frustrated at this time because who leaves a gun outside. I went to the laundry room, no gun. He then told me to go to the alley and look. I didn’t go back there but I did look down the alley and did not see anything familiar. He then told me to take a picture of where I was and I did that. He did said well it is locked up in the lost and fountain and I can get it to you “tomorrow.” I stated I want my gun tonight so where are you?, I can come to you to get it. He kept giving me the run around and them stated “no one told you leave.” I started yelling saying do you not understand that it is not safe for me to stay in that apartment with no locks or screen on the windows, he hung up. I called the police and made a report for a stolen gun. They told me to leave the property and not to go back there and that if he wanted to return the gun the next day to have him or someone else meet me at the police department for safety reasons. The next day he text, asking me if I was going to come get the gun. I called him and stated, I want my gun but only if you meet me at the police department. He said “that is a good idea.” He said I will call you right back. After about 30 minutes he sent another picture stating the gun was in the alley, AGAIN, wrapped up in a sheet. I called the police and reported what he said. The police went and retrieved my gun and brought it to the hotel, where I was staying. Needless to say, I have never gotten a refund and I will never stay there again. I am hoping you all take heed before booking this place. To anyone who wants to see pictures, videos or text message of our conversation or of the windows, please reach out, I will be happy to share....
Read moreI was in contact with Matthew on the way to my reservation. When we got about 20 minutes away I stopped hearing from him. We were arriving a couple hours early, and wanted to get the code go get in. We had a dog with us, a small amount of groceries, and we had just drove from Missouri. He stopped responding and we arrived at the location. When we got there the ally that you have to drive thru to get to tiny parking lot was blocked off by the “professional cleaner”. One of the other people renting went and asked her to move her car. When she got out she was walking out of the unit we were renting. We went to the back and parked our car and made calls, left voice mails to the provided number. I never received any call back or received any message my voice calls. I asked the the lady that was cleaning when she would be done because we wanted to get in early. She told us about 10 minutes because she was mopping her way out and was almost done. When we got in there I still had not heard from Matthew. He messaged me and told me that the cleaner was almost done then would be able to let me in afterwards. I told him we had been in there for about 20 minutes and she is already done, I asked him to get me the code so we could leave and lock the door. I ended up getting the code and while we were waiting we were looking around Unit. My girlfriend had taken her shoes off and we realized her feet had gotten dirty already from floor. There was also grass and dust inside of the bathroom shower. The blender in the kitchen was molding once you opened the top. There were crumbs in the kitchen chair and the bed sheets did not feel clean. This was to the point that we went to target to get a different bed cover. On our second night we even saw a bug in the kitchen. The professional cleaner was a nice lady but was not a professional cleaner and looked like a heavy drug addict. My entire stay there Matthew never mentioned anything about my voicemails or lack of response when checking in. The door doesn’t fully shut you have to deadbolt it. Even when the door is dead bolted it can still move so we had to prop something against the door every night for it to fully shut. On our third day there was also about 10 guys that looked to be in their 40’s or 50’s in the room next to us. It’s funny because every bad review you see about this place is actually true. Also our tv remote was broken the back didn’t stay on and the volume buttons were all broken so we had to download an app on our phones to use the tv. The wifi doesn’t connect to any Xbox...
Read moreFirst of all, if you read any of my other reviews, you will see I only ever post positive reviews. If I don’t love a place, I just move on, but in this case I feel that my honest review is needed so that other customers will not be scammed and misled by this hotel as my husband and I were. We booked our stay over two weeks ago. As we walked up to check into our unit two intoxicated men were just feet from our front door, one was bent over the back of his car vomiting. That was our first sign of trouble. Once we stepped into the unit we smelled cigarettes and mold. Looking around the unit it appeared as though it had not even had the most basic cleaning done prior to our arrival. There was visible debris on the floor and counters. There were hairs and stains on the sheets and dark markings on the bedding which was an absolute deal breaker for us, the thought of sleeping in a bed that had not been cleaned after the previous guest is disgusting. But the problems were beyond even this, there were bugs and the flooring in the bedroom was lifting up indicating some type of water damage and probably the source of the moldy smell. We assessed that this was not a safe or hygienic environment for us and left to find alternate lodging. We notified the hotel and they gave us the most generic response hours after what would have been our check out time and then basically ghosted us (not replying to our numerous attempts to resolve this matter by phone and email). Management showed no real concern for the issues we encountered, and yet took our money. We reached out to them numerous times for a refund and they never replied. If you’re considering booking here, you should be aware of the actual conditions at this location as there is a vast difference between what we saw with our own eyes and the photos presented on their website. This very much felt like a scam and a money grab to us and we hope no one else will be misled by the negligent management here who displayed NO genuine concern for the experience of their paying customers. If I could give this location ZERO stars, I would but that does not appear to...
