A friend told me about this place and Iāll be real, it just about knocked my taste buds out of my mouth. I saw their Instagram first and was skeptical because the food looked too good to be true. Turns out it wasnāt hype, it was the real deal.
I ordered the Triple D Burger, and wow. This thing isnāt just a burger, itās a sermon in smoke and fat. The smashed brisket blend has that slow-burn love that only comes from someone who truly cares about what ends up on your plate. The secret sauce is worth writing home about. Itās tangy, rich, and just mysterious enough to make you question every other burger youāve ever had. Later I found out the chef used to run the kitchen at Lakewood Landing, one of my favorite Dallas dives and burgers, and it all made sense.
Then I saw tacos on the menu. I figured, why not. I was a block away from my favorite taco spot and inside a brisket joint, so curiosity won. That brisket taco blew my mind! Full stop. I kid you not. No exaggeration, this is the best brisket taco Iāve ever had. I like to think I know my tacos pretty well (just look at my other reviews), and this one hits every note. The smoky brisket, chopped just right, with a fresh hit of onion and cilantro, and that salsa verde all came together for a perfect flavor explosion. I was left a little shook.
Even the mac and cheese deserves its own shoutout. Nothing fancy, just pure comfort food perfection. Creamy, cheesy, the right balance of gooey and firm. Exactly what you want it to be.
This place isnāt about gimmicks. Itās about craft, smoke, salt, heat, and heart. If youāre lucky enough to grab a seat and a plate here, youāll walk away a believer. Iāll be back again and again until the line becomes a problem, which isnāt yet, so run donāt walk to eat here before the masses get wind of this new...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI normally wouldn't write a review, but my soul felt compelled after trying the food. I feel like I'm pretty critical of BBQ, especially as a native Texan, but this place exceeded my expectations. I walked by last night, and the grill was fired up; the smell was mesmerizing. Unfortunately, they were closed.
I walked by again today and was fortunate enough to catch them on their first day open. The food truly didn't disappoint. The staff was welcoming, and I even met the Grillmaster.
Top-tier brisket (the tacos were insane), top-tier smoked sausage, and the beans were a whole other conversation (amazing).
You should definitely check this place out if you want some good...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe brisket sandwich was delicious and my personal favorite. I would even call it their go-to on the menu. They certainly know how to smoke a brisket.
Unfortunately, the Triple D (brisket-beef patties) burger was alright. The secret sauce was okay, but I didnāt like the blend of beef with brisket altogether. Itās new and untraditional, so itās a view into the pitmaster's mind, which I must respect.
The tinga was good, but I'd prefer it to be on tostadas instead of a corn tortilla.
The mac and cheese was creamy and cheesy, the buns were soft, and the spicy barbecue sauce was to my liking. Overall, I highly recommend this Tex-Mex barbecue adventure for my...
