I had the misfortune of dining here because Google said they have crab fried rice. This restaurant went out of their way to make us feel unwelcome. First approach parking. This is not a place you have much street parking but they have a parking lot if you have an alterrain vehicle you should be fine. It's straight up a hill with a moon sized crater in it. Then you have to find the entrance. It's insane we should have left then. Persistence definitely didn't pay off. The place is clean and decorated decently. So I was hopeful. The waitress was very short with us we could barely get out order or anything before she was gone. I noticed then she conversed with other tables but not us. Ok so maybe she knew them. Then our appetizers arrived and they were hot and very good. Then several people who didn't look like us were seated after us. So after the appetizers we waited and waited and watched all those people who came after us get their orders. So I flagged down the waitress and instantly her face changed like I'm bothering her. An I asked about our order. She said it's coming and ran off carrying a water picture well my water glass was still sitting on Empty. I had to call this woman again to get water. She was filling up the other table glasses before they were empty. So eventually we get our food and it was terrible especially in comparison to good crab fried rice we had the previous week. But we tried to eat it. I called the manage over to try and explain why their review was gonna be blatantly honest. However she didn't care she just smiled and said she hoped my day would be better when we left. The problem with that was my day was perfect before and after but you just insinuated I'm an angry black woman but you wouldn't even converse with me. So I'm doing what no one done for us previously I'm telling the truth. They did not appreciate my money just because I don't look like their...
Read moreMy recent takeout experience with Bangkok City Restaurant left a lasting impression, not just for the quality of their food but also for the exceptional customer service. On a night that stretched a little too late, the staff at Bangkok City were incredibly accommodating, kindly waiting past their closing time to ensure we received our order. It's rare to find such understanding and flexibility in the restaurant industry, and it's something that truly sets Bangkok City apart.
As for the meal itself, there were many highlights. The spicy basil noodles stood out with their perfect blend of heat and flavor, making every bite a delightful experience. The fried rice was another winner, offering a satisfying blend of textures and tastes that was both comforting and delicious. The spring rolls were crisp and light, served with a dipping sauce that was nothing short of amazing, adding a tangy kick that enhanced the overall taste.
However, the Panang curry, while generally a favorite dish of mine, was not quite to my liking on this occasion. It had a notably strong aftertaste that didn't sit well with me, though this is more a matter of personal preference than a critique of the dish itself.
In summary, my experience at Bangkok City Restaurant was overwhelmingly positive. The food, for the most part, was excellent, and the staff's kindness and willingness to go above and beyond for their customers was truly commendable. It's these qualities that make Bangkok City a standout restaurant, and I'm keen to return and explore more of their menu...
Read moreI am not one to be a reviewer.. well usually the only time I write reviews are to complaint a place.. but the truth is I want to save you from the horrible food and experience this place has to offer.
I am a HUGE thai fan, my famly and I are. I went here with my daughter for lunch. I usually get her fried tofu or tofu satay, spring rolls and some sides. I always get the red curry. When the apps came out we all about puked after the first bite. The spring rolls were stuffed with what tasted like unwashed bean sprouts, lettuce and carrots. The tofu was fried and literally had no flavor.. it was absolutely disgusting.
When the red curry came I was hugely disappointed. It tasted like red, milk water. Like I was so confused it didnt even taste like coconut milk it tasted like cows milk that had some red food coloring watered down. It was so bad.
The worst part!!! The server which was clearly the son of the owner or in some relation to the owner because it gave off a family joint feel- could clearly see that we didnt eat ANYTHING, We each had a bite of the tofu, we at half a spring roll between the two of us and the rest was in pieces on the plate and I had maybe two bites of my curry. He didnt offer to comp the meal, he didnt ask if everything was ok or if he could change something or improve something..
It was a waste of time and we ended up leaving and having to have lunch somewhere else.
WILL NEVER RETURN. PLEASE DONT LISTEN TO THESE OTHER REVIEWS, I DID AND I ENDED UP WITH AN EMPTY STOMACH AND OUT OF...
