From the lackluster service to the subpar food quality, this restaurant failed to meet even the most basic expectations.
First and foremost, the service was abysmal. The staff seemed disinterested and unattentive throughout our entire visit. It took an eternity for someone to take our order, and when the food finally arrived, it was clear that it had been hastily prepared. The servers rarely checked on us, leaving us feeling neglected and ignored.
Moving on to the food, it was a complete letdown. The hot stone bibimbap, which is supposed to be a signature dish, lacked any flavor or authenticity. The ingredients were poorly cooked and tasted bland. The portion size was also disappointingly small, leaving us hungry and unsatisfied. The kimchi, a staple in Korean cuisine, was stale and lacked the necessary tanginess. It was evident that the ingredients used were of low quality, further contributing to the overall disappointment.
Moreover, the ambiance of the restaurant was far from inviting. The interior was outdated and poorly maintained. The tables were sticky, and the overall cleanliness left much to be desired. It was evident that the management did not prioritize the comfort and satisfaction of their customers.
To make matters worse, the prices at Hot Stone & Korean Kitchen were exorbitant for the quality of food and service provided. We expected a higher standard given the prices, but unfortunately, we were sorely disappointed.
In conclusion, I would strongly advise against visiting Hot Stone & Korean Kitchen in Irving, TX. The lackluster service, subpar food quality, and uninviting ambiance make it a regrettable dining experience. Save your time and money by exploring other Korean restaurants in the area that offer a more authentic and enjoyable...
Read moreAuthentic Korean. This place opened 2 weeks ago. My dad found this place and was raving about the food so my whole family went for dinner. This restaurant has no marketing, no website, no Google maps (I created the maps listing), no Yelp, nothing & was packed with hungry patrons. Impressive! The food reflects that, the food is amazing. First off, the kimchi is very fresh with a clean aftertaste, I want their recipe! We had the sushi as an starter and was egg with veggies and was a nice start. We tried all 3 stews & the chicken soup. Stew #1 was a vegetable bean paste stew with a miso type base and was delicious. Stew #2 was a seafood silken tofu stew with squid, prawn, clams, tentacles etc. Stew #3 was a beef base stew, it was a little spicy but was my favorite. The chicken soup is huge, simple and had a very clean lemongrass/ginger flavor. Whole garlic cloves were mini treasures we all fought over. It had the entire chicken in it, neck, giblets and all, very healthy. The marinated beef bulgogi was yummy, the sauce was a little watery and I recommend they thicken the sauce a little bit. The spicy marinated pork was ridiculously good. The serving dish slightly burns the bottom, caramelizing the pork marinade and is super delicious. The grilled fish is a simple grilled mackerel, good and not fishy. This was obviously a family business, run very efficiently with no waiters. Just walk up order and get your food. I highly recommend this Korean spot I wish them much success and...
Read moreIf I could I would totally gate-keep this place! But the food is just too good not to share! The staff was very lovely, everyone greeted you as you entered and as you left. Regardless of race, they greet you in their language, “anhyonghasaeo” which gives it more of an authentic vibe. The menu is hung above the cashier in both Korean and English language. We came during lunch hour today and they were pretty busy, though we didn’t even have to wait long for the food. I grabbed a tray of their gimbap (spicy w/ anchovies) laid out in the front, I loved that it came with pickled radish and a wasabi sauce. It was everything I was craving! For only $7 there were like 10 rolls in there! As for the main entrees, I ordered the spicy pork ribs, which was so good and tender, falling off the bone! I also ordered the seafood pancake, it wasn’t as crispy as other places I’ve tried but it was full of flavor and full of seafood! I’d take this seafood pancake over Maht gaek’s any day! I also ordered the soontofu soup combo with stir fried pork. Each entree came with a side of purple rice and plenty of side dishes. Their kimchi was especially good. You can tell it’s made in house, it was very fresh and delicious. Overall everything was so good, that I have no complaints about the food. I would honestly come...
