It's a little hard to find so look for the green cow statues across the street in front of the large apartments and park on the side of the place by the bakery. We went for lunch today. The place is very small with no more than 12 tables and you seat yourself. We were greeted promptly with chips and salsa and menus. Menu is in Spanish and I'm not sure that our waitress spoke English either (doubtful). Husband got Gorditas (chicharron and el pastor) w/rice & beans and I had Shrimp Tacos w/added Chorizo. They bring your red & green salsas (house made). Every single thing was outstanding. My corn tortillas were homemade for the shrimp tacos. So flavorful that we didn't really need to add the salsas. My husband is from Mexico and thought the flavors were "just like home" as he is from Aguascalientes and the chef is from San Luis so he was correct. He had a Micholada that he said was delicious and I got a margarita that was very bad and was frozen. I bartend so I know a good or bad drink and would never order it again (trust me, don't do it)... frozen sugary mess. No room for dessert. We will go back for the Birria tacos everyone talks about and another order of the...
Read moreSo first of all chile lol the menu; baby it's in Spanish ok!?!!! Lol They offer NO English version. So this place don't get no more Mexican than that. Lol I came here with Birria tacos in mind. thankfully the waitress english was fine and she was patient with my many questions. Once I realized this was authentic Mexican I still took a chance and asked if they have chips and queso and no they do not. Lol. They don't even have ground beef (I prefer ground beef enchiladas) so this place is in no way tex mex. My favorite thing about Mexican restaurants is the chips and salsa. I do not like theirs at all. It's like a warm soup literally. I prefer a cold or room temp chunky tomato cilantro onion type salsa this was nothing like that. It was a warm thin soup. I was quite sad. I almost left for that reason alone. Now on to the birria. That made up for my disappointment. Very good. And their red and green sauce for tacos is good as well. I won't be back here but you...
Read moreI was looking forward to eating at this restaurant after seeing it on Instagram, however, I was in for a rude awakening. First of all, the cocktails were anything but. I ordered a mango margarita on the rocks and my husband ordered a mojito. My margarita did not have any tequila, and my husband said his drink tasted like club soda with lime. Secondly, the salsa, the guacamole, and the chips did not taste like much. The salsa was more liquidy than anything and the guacamole had thick cut vegetables and barely any avocado. As for the main dishes, I ordered the beef quesadillas and my husband ordered the 2lb burrito. My quesadillas were subpar; nothing much to write home about. My husbands burrito, in his words, was 'big', but lacked flavor. The only thing going for it was the size of the plate. He only ate a quarter of it and was disappointed.
I really had high hopes for this spot, but I wouldn't recommend this place to any of my friends.
Total bill was $70 for pure...
