This place has officially become our new FAVORITE brunch spot! I always evaluate several factors when trying out new restaurants, and this one exceeded my expectations across the board.
First, the food: It was absolutely impeccable. We ordered the Reuben sandwich, Chicken and waffles, Eggs Benedict, and their Signature berry crepes. The Reuben had the perfect combination of tender beef, tangy sauerkraut, and melty cheese. The fried chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and paired well with the crunchy waffles. My fiancé is quite particular about fried chicken, and he says this place makes it better than any other restaurant he's tried! The poached eggs for the benedict were cooked to perfection, with just the right balance of hollandaise sauce. My personal favorite? The berry crepe! It wasn’t overly sweet, with a luscious berry mascarpone filling and plenty of fresh berries on top. Easily the best crepes I’ve had in a while!
I also had their Segafredo brewed coffee, and it was incredible. I’m typically picky about coffee and usually avoid brewed coffee at restaurants because it tends to taste sour, but this one was spot on. Honestly, the best brewed coffee I’ve ever had.
The portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality and quantity.
Next, the service: The staff was amazing—friendly, attentive, and made sure we were well taken care of throughout our meal.
Finally, the atmosphere: The restaurant was clean and beautifully decorated, with Christmas music playing in the background, adding to its cozy vibe.
I was blown away by how fantastic every single aspect of our experience was. I can’t wait to come back and try...

We came to Lake Highland Cafe while viting family and looking for a new brunch spot. My partner and I live in Brooklyn and were hoping to enjoy some classics (biscuits and gravy, over easy eggs, hash browns, pancakes), but also hoping to have some new favorites. We got our classics! The biscuits and gravy and pancakes were perfectly fluffy and a must share for the table. We also really enjoyed the suggested breakfast tacos with the chicken carnitas, but everything we ordered was delicious and not heavy or greasy as some breakfast/brunch items can be!
Despite being stuffed from our main order, we couldn’t turn down the chance to try their crepes and French toast as a dessert. Both super yummy, but would HIGHLY recommend the crepes. So light and crave-able! (Pictures of both included!)
The staff were very welcoming and constantly checking in to ensure we had plenty of water and coffee refills throughout our visit! The owner even popped by our table (and others) to check on guests experiences.
I would highly recommend checking this place out the next time you’re in the mood for brunch. We didn’t even get to try the second half of the menu with more lunch focused items, but the next time we are in town and looking for a great lunch, we will be sure return to...

Got the chicken fried chicken breakfast for $16. Overpriced if you ask me. The gravy had negative amount of flavor, safe to say it was devoid of any flavour whatsoever, no better than a wet glow of cement. Plus it wasn't even at serving temperature; the country fried chicken itself was lukewarm, the idle gravy made it cold and it was not crunchy at all like something fried should be. Pancakes were so dry that putting butter on it made it dry again in seconds. Lacks any texture or flavour. Overall food wasn't that impressive. Overpriced for cafeteria quality food.
Service was subpar at best. David L was friendly but all in all inattentive. Saw him all of three times; when he took my order, when my food was dropped off and when I got the checked. I might as well as not had a server at all.
Atmosphere for fine. Atypical fare. Nothing fancy. Nothing giving it any wow factor or any unique to make it standout. Situated in an unremarkable location in an unremarkable building. Could easily drive past the place without even noticing the place at all.
If you grew up going to this place: congrats. you do you. If you are new/ out-of-towner ans visiting family/friends; spend your $20...
