If there was a real-life version of the âIdk, I just work hereâ meme, Le Bon Temps would be it. The young kid in the front was so unkind I literally felt like we were getting Punkâd. Asked a question about the ingredients in the different beignets and was immediately told âidk, itâs an old menu I guess. Not my faultâ Asked about the cream in them as Iâd seen in the photos on other reviews and the cashier went into full-on condescending mode. âIdk man, thatâs not cream.â So asked about the Chantilly cream. Then the cashier slammed it on the desk and said âI guess itâs whipped cream,â and condescendingly sprayed it in a spoon and stuck it in my face to show thatâs âitâs just cream.â Then he got frustrated I was asking questions at all and slapped a ruler loudly on his hands to make noise over me the entire time I was talking. Went on to ask one final question about what type of ice cream they had, as 3 of the 6 flavors were out of stock. The only one âavailableâ I wanted⊠âoh we donât have any of that one either.â Asked if they made the ice cream in house or if itâs just from a grocery store. Then the cashier slammed the sliding door on the ice cream freezer, annoyed I would even dare ask another question about the ingredients, and said âidk, thatâs not my job, the manager gets the ice cream.â Appalled at this point, I just took whatever they had. Canât believe I even went that far, because at this point I shouldâve just canceled the order and left. So I pay, then the kid forces my two guests and me outside, saying we canât wait inside. Mind you, itâs very cold outside (39 degrees), so we walked back in and the kid basically made up some covid-related excuse as to why we canât be inside, when clearly this was personal and he was angry and didnât want to be around any customers. The irony is that thereâs a sign outside that literally says âDonât be shy. Come inside!â This was completely embarrassing to my guests/friends. This is our second time here. The first time was not good, but since we were in the area and itâs open late, we thought weâd give it one more shot. This was honestly so bad that no amount of refunds or complimentary items would ever help me return. Two people outside were so fortunate we warned them that they actually skipped over the place after...
Read moreLe Bon Temps is a new bakery in Deep Ellum that serves all of my favorite things: beignets, chicory coffee, and ice cream. But you know what else I love besides food? Exceptional customer service. Their general manager, Nicholas Fiorentino, made sure he elevated our experience by creating a welcoming vibe our first time there. âCome on in, the doorâs open,â he told Michael and me, as he passed a couple of brown bags of beignets to customers waiting in the street. âYou can order inside.â The door opened, and the little space (600 square feet) contained all of my happiness on a crisp fall Saturday afternoon. At Le Bon Temps, I can have it all and see it all with a clear view into the kitchen. Itâs a little slice of NOLA in Deep Ellum that reminds you of well-traveled streets where good times roll. Saturdayâs soft opening was intense. Pre-game parties for the Texas-OU game were already in full swing at 7 A.M. By mid-afternoon, the crowd needed their caffeine and sugar fix, and Nicholas worked well under pressure to deliver exactly what they needed. I watched him greet customers, ring up orders, reach for more napkins, all while chatting us up and posing for a picture without breaking a sweat. He was such a natural. Much to my delight, he told me that they also serve chicory coffee with the beignets. Yes, please! This is the real deal in Deep Ellum located at 2932 Main Street, across from Monkey King Noodle and Niwa Japanese BBQ. We tried the âClassique,â which is the classic French Quarter style beignets for an order of 3 ($4). If youâre feeling a bit adventurous, then you can try the âLe Boneignetâ which is in limited daily quantities due to the French laminated butter ingredient. You can get an order of 2 ($6). Everything was delicious! The food, the coffee, the vibe, and most especially the top notch customer service. Their grand opening is Sunday, October 13th. The restaurant will be open with wide-ranging hours. Make sure to check the...
Read moreIâm a regular customer and yesterday I witness my favorite employee from here getting yelled at by the new manager, first she was yelling at her in front of all the customers which is totally unprofessional of her. Then aly was trying to tell her not to raise her voice at her to talk to her right but she told her she has the right to yell at her? I am a business owner and if i saw my employees getting treated like this by there manager I would definitely fire her. Aly had explained to me on Saturday how she had to work so many hours that weekend to help the manager out and she was still doing so great once she was 10 hours in her shift. She was extremely patient with un happy customers and made sure they didnât leave until they were happy! everytime I come in and see aly she makes my experience better because sheâs so sweet and smart! she definitely has bright future ahead of her. She told me that sheâs been extremely patient with the new manager, which I understand because everytime I come in the manager has the kitchen a mess! Iâve gone 4 times while she is there and the store has been ridiculously dirty like I should probably report this by now. There would be piles of trash in the back, floor extremely dirty, front coffee areas was not cleaned, however when I came in on Saturday I had seen the store clean! I realized the manager wasnât there and aly was left in charge. The store would always be clean and organized before the new general manager got there. I apologized to aly how her manager had treated her in front of customers which i shouldnât have! That disrespectful manager should have! I will not continue to support a business that treats their employee this way. Iâm a big foodie on instagram and I will make sure I post not to go to this...
