Safety Concerns for Families with Children – Needs Immediate Attention I visited this McDonald’s location at 1000 Commerce St, Dallas, TX 75202 around 10:00 PM with my child after an evening walk in downtown Dallas. My child loves McDonald’s, so we decided to stop by for a quick meal.
However, upon arrival, I noticed a large number of homeless individuals gathered both outside and inside the restaurant. During our short time there, I witnessed verbal arguments escalating into physical altercations, involving the security guard on site.
This was my first time visiting Dallas as a tourist, staying at a hotel in the heart of downtown, and I expected to feel safe in such a central, well‑known area. Unfortunately, this experience left me feeling uneasy and concerned for our safety. The situation felt chaotic, unsafe, and intimidating — especially for families with young children. My child was frightened, and I was genuinely concerned for our well‑being.
While I understand homelessness is a complex social issue, it is the responsibility of the store management to ensure a safe and welcoming dining environment for all paying customers.
I strongly urge McDonald’s management to take immediate steps to improve security and the overall customer experience at this location. This could include: • Increasing the presence of trained security personnel during evening hours. • Coordinating with local authorities to reduce unsafe loitering in and around the restaurant. • Implementing clear policies to ensure customer safety and comfort inside the dining area.
McDonald’s is a globally recognized brand, and I believe most customers — especially families — expect a safe, clean, and friendly environment when they choose to dine here. I hope the management addresses this issue promptly so this location can become a place where customers feel comfortable bringing their children, even during later hours.
I look forward to seeing improvements in the...
Read moreI went there to order iced coffee large no creamer and sugar. I explained to the cashier three times that I just wanted it plain “No creamer no sugar” she didn't seem to understand and went to tell the manager about the accommodation so I tried to explain to the manager.
the manager started speaking in Spanish so I told her three times in Spanish that I did not want creamer or sugar inside the ice coffee. I waited for the iced coffee because they were brewing it. when they were done, they place the ice coffee container on the floor and it was full of coffee. again I ask for my iced coffee and the manager proceeded to make it. She still put the creamer and sugar pumps inside of it. I then reminded her again that I did not want the sugar and creamer, only iced coffee plain. She seemed upset, place the ice coffee on the counter counter, and then stated in Spanish we always make iced coffee like this there's no reason for us to make it black and there's no way to make it that way.
At this point I had to ask my friend to come help me. We then explain as simple as possible for them to understand To make the iced coffee, you have to pump the creamer and sugar manually. So its possible to not include it. It is considered the same thing as saying no onions on a burger. only thing you don't do is include the creamer of the sugar.
My friend came out to the front to ask for the iced coffee and the manager seemed upset and took a hot pot of coffee poured it into a full container of iced coffee which was lined out with a plastic liner then place the cup on the floor and started to pour the ice coffee inside the cup. At this point we just took the iced coffee, I told my friend to throw it away and then I said Thank you and then we left.
I can understand how busy it is to work into a fast food chain. however the situation was handled very poorly I felt like I wasted my money and my time since it took the least twenty minutes to make...
Read moreFirst of all nobody likes a complainer so I won’t complain per-say. I would like to think that management takes the time to read these reviews so for any criticism I will offer some suggestions on how my visit to this location can be improved upon.
Let’s start with the food. I went through the driveway and there were exactly 5 cars in front of me at 11pm. It took 33 minutes to get through the drive-through. It wasn’t bustling or anything it was basic and should not have been in the weeds that bad. The food was completely cold. It was not even good. The ice in my drink had long sense melted and tasted like a water. I was asked to repeat my order at both windows. I could have asked for anything. They didn’t have a clue.
Advice- pay the good people more, let the bad ones go and hire new ones at a livable wage and place an emphasis on hospitality, punctuality, cleanliness, and have the employees own it. Make it a place that’s fun to work at. I was miserable waiting 33 minutes for my cold and watered down food, I wanted to bail out but I was trapped. It’s McDonald’s every other McDonalds I visit gets it right. It’s the same everywhere. I don’t even waste my time on a review but y’all need to get it together. I hope you do and I will remove this scathing review. But unacceptable today.
Another problem at this location is people asking for money as you are driving through. Hire security because it’s scary. Put your people, customers, and your process first and the good reviews will come. I love to leave good reviews. However, for me, today, it...
