I cannot stress the utter rudeness of the staff person I encountered at the front desk on 9/18/23. I arrived to this hotel in the afternoon. This woman was utterly rude from the start! Insults my co worker and I when checking in by stating loudly card and Id please like this was some sort of jail. Then stated my friends card was a prepaid card which it wasn’t and she refused to accept it. She was VERY rude. As my friend and I walked away from the counter, we overheard her do the same thing to the very next guest. I overheard her ask that lady several times for card and Id loudly again like it was a jail and not like the customer service you would expect to receive at a high end hotel. You would expect Hi Welcome to Marriott, do you have a reservation can we please see your id so we can look you up? That sort of thing. If your looking for that here you won’t get it. The next customer continued to try and hand her id explaining to the woman at the desk that she did not have a credit card and the woman told her well you won’t be checked in here without one. The customer finally told the woman at the desk I don’t need a credit card I am here with a company and arrangements had already been made with management if she would please look it up. A little customer service goes a long way this staff member at Marriott didn’t seem to want to do anything helpful. Customer service is majorly lacking! Another man behind the counter called her over to him and the transaction seemed to get completed after that, ours didn’t we had to find another hotel because of the rude staff member. I’m just wondering why all that was even necessary all she had to do was simply take the ladies id she was handing her to avoid the situation. Same with my coworker and I’s situation if she would have just simply taken her card and tried to use it rather than arguing with us about what the card was or wasn’t. My coworker said the woman was rude to other customers and to her before I had ever arrived, she told her you need to get checked in and she said she was waiting for me. The staff member then told her well I’m not just gonna stand here waitin. This staff member while being rude to me, looks up in the middle of our attempted transaction and starts talking to the staff member at the bar across the way about her personal business. Completely disregarding us. There was not one other guest in the lobby, the issue at this location is THE STAFF!! Cannot rate the rooms as I actually never went into one! Oh and the valet parking $35 PER NIGHT. It was a horrible experience! Anyway, as that customer left the counter she literally was rude to yet another guest, same thing stating card and id, no professionalism whatsoever I couldn’t hear all of that conversation as we were leaving but the woman staff member behind the desk that had been rude to not just myself, my co worker, and another customer but now to another person in all of fifteen minutes or less I did hear her tell that lady that’s fine she would just cancel her reservation she had no problem with it loudly. If Marriott expects to keep customers they may want to consider replacing their afternoon staff member from 9/18/23. The nerve of this woman staff member just...
Read moreThe reviews for this hotel have to be completely fake !!!! The room is catastrophically overpriced it’s $181 a night but they failed to tell you that it’s an additional $30 a night if you want to park your car at the hotel making the nightly fee $211 a night that is with my AAA discount for a basic room for one person The rooms are tiny the window is a small slat about a foot and a half wide There is a small TV clear across the room oddly placed away from the bed The view is of garbage and broken air-conditioners It states it has a restaurant but it does not it has a bistro with just a few items on the menu. I would rate this hotel about the same as a poorly managed super eight Took 45 minutes just to check in because they only have three luggage carts for the entire hotel Every hotel I’ve ever stayed in had information books about local restaurants or things in the hotel this does not. I spend a lot of time traveling have stayed in a lot of hotels and this hotel should be a $50 a night hotel I thought this would be a nice luxury relaxing hotel with the restaurant room service soft beds beautiful view as you would think from the reviews. It absolutely not I would never ever recommend anybody ever stay here the price is catastrophically over priced even the cooling system is way outdated with one of those old fashion White monstrosity things in the wall to heat and cool your room I am devastatedly disappointed and actually flat out angry that this is what I got when the reviews stated it was a 9.7 out of the 10 those reviews are fake. The reviews are what made me decide to stay here instead of extremely nicer hotels for half the price but I thought with the high reviews it was going to be a very nice hotel not a economy garbage dump Do not stay here absolutely every hotel in the area is better and cheaper Do not believe the reviews in any aspects they are lies they have been fabricated because oh my god in no aspect Are the reviews even slightly accurate I wish I could post pictures this...
Read moreComing from someone that work her way through the hotel business for 10 years starting as the Night auditor working myself to Front Desk agent to working in the F&B A/R department. I know how people should be treated. I have to say it only takes one person to make the visit utterly unpleasant. Upon checking into the hotel Felicia (mid-shift agent) was very unpleasant, she made me feel unwelcomed, made it seem the only parking available was Valet. I personally don’t like other people driving my car, I asked where else can I park. She was not helpful in the request; I found somewhere else to park 2 blocks away. Not an issue, it would have been nice to have some information about parking. I let her know I was having someone meet me there. I asked where c he can park, again not helpful. Felicia did not indicate there would be an issue with him coming. But, when my boyfriend arrived, he was greeted unpleasantly also, felt he was profiled for the way he was dressed down, he gave my info to Felicia. She stated he needs to get ahold of me and get him. I was waiting for him; my phone was on silent. Not once did she offer to ring my room even after giving the information to her. So she decided to kick him out of the lobby. Where the hotel is located, I completely understand there are unwanted encounters wondering in from the street that may come into contact with. There had to be a different and more efficient way of handling the situation. We had an event; we were attending at The Adolphus, we chose the Courtyard out of convenience being located around the corner from the hotel. With all the commotion this was a domino effect to the rest of our evening. We missed our event, we attempted to rectify the rest of the evening attending the next event but it was not what we paid for ended up leaving the event. Thank to Felicia she did the night memorable and not in a good way. With all of this said the hotel itself if very nice and clean, everyone else...
