My Family's Pizza Lakewood — Restaurant in Dallas

I started eating pizza daily when this company placed a new location directly in front of my old townhouse. Originally called Pizza by Marco, this really is a genuine family business, and the pizza reflects decades of honing the art form.

The best way to describe the pizza is as a mix between the sometimes over-priced Neapolitan style, with a touch of NY slice, priced like Little Caesar's. It's a must have when in Dallas!

This particular location doesn't have the best environment because it's a takeout spot, but if you just want the pizza, this is the spot. If you're looking to sit down and be social while you eat, try one of the other locations.

The staff is always friendly, and if you happen to run into the owner, he's a blast. I ate pizza here so much that he invited me to make my own pizza, trained me in cheese selections, and offered the classic lunch special (get the slices with the Greek salad) anytime for me. All things that can only happen when you support local businesses.

I almost missed out on some of the best pizza I have eaten lately simply because I overlooked a sign. The notice on the front door at 1915 Skillman Street read to place or pick up an order from My Family's Pizza, go next door to the Pour House. If not for my eagle-eyed cohort, we might have eaten somewhere else. Once inside the cool environs of the Pour House, owned by the same folks that own the pizza joint next doors, we took a seat at the bar and ordered our pie. In no time at all, the bartender (pizzatender?) served us a piping hot pan of delicious pizza. I had a coupon, which brought me to this place, and my buddy and I ended up eating right there at the bar. My buddy commented on how good his cold tap beer tasted on such a hot day. The bartender was very personable and thoughtful. The pizza was great, a thin crust with a yeasty flavor that I really enjoyed. I recommend My Family's Pizza on Skillman but be sure to go to the Pour House next doors if you plan on picking up or dining...

I only have the pizza. It's pretty fab. I'm sorry and I know people won't like this but I didn't care for the ranch. It's good though good flavor. We have the supreme and it was fantastic. If you haven't been you're looking about supporting local businesses give it a try.

UPDATE: CHANGING REVIEW TO TWO STARS!! Went back there this weekend and I don't know if it's new people or what but it was probably the worst pizza I've ever had. Go get a DiGiorno's from the grocery store and eat that instead I don't think I will ever go back. Very disappointed because I like to support local businesses.
