I’ll be darned if I’m not the first twenty-something to ask myself, “Is there a way to experience fine dining in DFW without feeling like I’m reliving all of my teenage birthday dinners at once?” Has anyone capitalized on millennials’ innate desire to be so drastically different from their baby-boomer parents that even dinners for special occasions have to be somewhere their parents have never been? The answer is yeet, my friends... I mean, yes. The answer is yes. Forget you heard that.
As I was saying, Neighborhood Services is not your dad’s spot for upscale dining (metaphorically and most likely literally). Take a second and imagine the really cool kid from high school who seemed way out of your friendship league but was still really kind and down-to-earth to you and everyone else despite your unworthiness. Neighborhood services is that kid in the form of a restaurant. You’d be hard pressed to find a trendier aesthetic elsewhere, but your server will make you feel like you actually belong in the cool kids club. The menu is original while still having something for everyone; a simple man with simple needs can order a burger while another can order a dry-aged steak and pretend he’s a culinary expert.
Regardless of what you order, you can expect it to be executed brilliantly. It’s the sort of food that will still blow your mind while you’re eating it re-heated at work three days later. It’s also worth mentioning these guys are no slackers when it comes to their drink and desert menus either. Their cocktail menu is great, and the deserts will have you lying to yourself about how much room is left in your stomach at the end of your meal.
Neighborhood services has a wonderful balance of originality and accessibility that provides a pleasantly unique experience to even those who think Michelin Stars are for rating tires. All in all, it’s a fantastic experience that will leave you wondering if perhaps you were, for just a night, one of...
Read moreThis is the spot on Preston Rd. It is at the same high quality as the other restaurants in this local chain. The food is high-end American style with unexpected and smart twists. The special aspect here is the broiler. Any broiled dish is cooked perfectly. Service is excellent and the wait staff is knowledgeable and definitely have their thoughts on their personal favorites. The bar is well stocked and the beer and wine selection are quite good. I was surprised that they had no tap beer. Something for them to consider for the future. When walking up to the place it at first looks closed. The sign is dimly lit and the windows have pictures on them giving the place an almost abandoned look. But as soon as you open the door you are greeted to a bustling restaurant...
Read moreFrom top to bottom a great experience. Very professional service throughout the meal. With so many interesting choices it was difficult to decide but settled on the Nebraska Steak and frites. But I shouldn't skip over the starters. The fried asparagus were lightly breaded and had great flavor. The meatballs had a crisp outside and well seasoned inside. The sauce they were served in would be terrific as a side with some Italian bread. The steak was well seasoned and the side of voodoo pepper sauce added just the right spice. We also side dishes of brussels sprouts and mac & cheese that were terrific. Unfortunately had no room for dessert after sampling...
