This library is located in a very upscale neighborhood 1/2 mile west of the eponymous intersection, close to the Dallas North Tollway.
Trees line the small front parking lot and entrance. In fact, trees surround the entire library property, front, back and sides. There's lots more parking in the back lot shared with the church next door but curiously no back or side entrances. There are four small benches just outside the front entrance to relax, enjoy your book, the shade and the library's WiFi.
Inside book return is just to the right as you enter. It's a little hard to see but obvious once you've found it. Nice greeting upon arrival with an actual (dare I say sincere?) smile.
Unusual computer setup with 10 PCs squeezed into a circular bartop-type area. Two more computers in nice boxy private cubicles next to the bar.
Slightly smaller than usual children's section, slightly larger than usual adult fiction section. I was very happy with the selection because I was quickly able to find two books I wanted to read. Books written by less popular authors, no less.
Small, cramped men's bathroom with one stall and one urinal. A little worn but clean with full supplies.
Added bonus - Barnes and Noble is just down the street at the NW corner of Preston/Royal.
All in all for me this was one of the better library experiences in...
Read moreThis is the best, most comfortable library❤❤❤! The librarians are all friendly, helpful, and resourceful. The best part about this library is they have a kid section with a Thomas train table, a kid kitchen and lots of kid books. Also, kids are allowed to be kids and they don't have to be silent. One of the main Librarians said it best when he said that the library is for everyone kids and adults. The only issue with this library is it is really difficult to get children to leave, 😅 they have so many activities and fun things to do that children never want...
Read moreThese people are the most paranoid over COVID (I refrain from using the word “lazy”.) They shut down earlier and (briefly) reopened later than everyone else. With the uptick in COVID, they shut down again, without public or email notices, when there is no state or city mandate. The had a huge red sign over the curb which says they are open, but two tiny signs on their doors that say they are “closed until further notice,” which can’t be seen until you are at the doors. So what is it? You open or closed? Education is not optional. Do you job. Stop...
