Received an article from a coworker about top 10 hot chicken sandwiches in dallas. This place was in the top 10. I'm not sure about the ranking if they were ranking from best to worse. With that being said, it's stopped by here as the seafood place also sells tenders and chicken sandwiches. They also have a location in fort Worth that does exclusively Nashville hot chicken. I got the chicken sando which is just the sandwich and cajun fries. The option is there for you to get regular fries. They also have a chicken tender basket with bread and pickles where you can select the level of heat for your tenders. They also have a plain Jane which is just tenders and fries. I got medium heat for both. They use kosher dill pickles. They do sprinkle a little bit of seasoning on those pickles to coincide with the heat for the tenders. If I'm not mistaken they used a brioche bun, it was very thick and chewy. It had the ability to hold up to a lot of condiments. The sandwich originally comes with vinegar slaw, which I am not a fan of so I asked him to put it on the side. It was not heavy on the vinegar but I think it may have taken away from the chicken sandwich as a whole so I did not use it. Chicken was very flavorful and crispy even after a 15 to 20 minute drive home. It took me about 30 minutes from receiving the food to my first bite. Food was still warm and to my liking. The cajun fries were nothing spectacular. Kind of reminded me of a fry from maybe rallies or checkers or seasoned fries from Carl's Jr or Hardee's. I think a better option for the chicken finger basket would be toast instead of just plain bread. I know a lot of other places are doing toast but maybe a different type of spin on this particular toast. Maybe Texas toast, maybe grilled sourdough bread, maybe grilled rye bread. Something out of the ordinary that somebody else is not doing. Thankfully I was able to walk up to the counter without having to wait. It was lunch time about noon. They made all the food to order, so it was about 15 to 20 minutes before I got my food, which was awesome. The medium had a little heat, which I think was a good beginning start to try this place out. I think I could go up and down this list with still maintaining flavor. Crispy chicken, but not too much breading. Will...
Read moreIt's an okay place. Will I be returning? Probably not. Ordering and waiting to be sat down is confusing. If you're dining in, you have to wait in line. If you're picking up, you also have to wait in line even though the arrow implies that you can just go in and pick up your order. The place is small and tight, it can get really loud. I wouldn't recommend someone who suffers with anxiety to come here. The loudness of people talking, plus the incredibly loud boom of the music is insane. I don't know how people can enjoy eating in that type of atmosphere.
The food was okay. We ordered a basket of wings and fries. The wings were meh, definitely NOT better than wingstop although the lemon pepper had a nice strong flavor. Their fries are better than wingstop though, I'll give them that. We also ordered the number one basket or crawfish, which had amazing flavor. It was spicy and hot. It's too bad we had zero experience eating crawfish, lol. It would've been nice to have seen some displays or posters demonstrating how. We got a side of the garlic pasta, which tasted cheesy and garlicky. Again, good flavor. You have to refill your own drinks. They only carry Pepsi products, that's a boomer.
Their management and style of ordering food is all over the place. They have nice hosts and cashiers, but they're young. They need someone to be directing them, someone with a plan. This place also needs a certain time limit. There was a huge party of Hispanics occupying half of the dining room being obnoxious and loud. They were there before we arrived, they were there after we left. Like, eat and go home! Keep it moving, lol. Other than that, good place. It was a good way to kick off our...
Read moreI try to hold off on negative reviews but this is ridiculous. I ordered crabs on Friday (9/17) night, 7pm is good time considering the closing hours. I drive 30 miles to and 30 miles from and paid $35. Gas and time as well.
I get settled and start to eat and boom, I was horrified by the taste and texture. Why? The crabs were over cooked and literally down to mush. I tried the other claw and same thing. I couldn’t eat them. I started calling to share the experience with a manager and get a replacement, but crickets every half hour through closing.
Saturday (9/18) I stared calling about 11am, crickets. I called the Frankfort location twice and hour until closing… crickets! No answer EVERY CALL and a full voicemail box every time. You cannot even leave a message as a customer to resolve the terrible experience.
Sunday (9/19), calling again and don’t be surprised… yup NO ANSWER!!! So I try the other location, and don’t be surprised… yup NO ANSWER!!! I’m shocked as a customer patronizing a small business and this is the respectful customer service we get, none.
Do I have to drive 60 miles again only for the staff, who likely weren’t on shift Friday night, to say sorry I can’t help you?
Do I stand in front of the store with a sign that says “Take your money but don’t take your call!” “Poor customer service after your money is exchanged!” “Check your food before you leave cause there’s no customer service after you drive off!”
