I am rating Sandaga 813 a 3 1/2 stars. The band PC Change from Arkansas was very entertaining playing and singing Old School R & B, Blues, and Today's R & B music as well. If the show starts at 10, don't expect for it to start on time. The band started about an hour late. I guess, the venue was waiting on the crowd to arrive and possibly to purchase drinks from the bar.

The bartenders do not skimp on the alchol! However, if you do not have a server getting you drinks, you can hang it up getting drinks. The line at the bar is incredibly long.

In the outside area you can order food which was only a chop beef brisket sandwich which was hearty and very filling. Your side was a variety of Lays chips in a small bag you can choose from.

However, I did not like the community restroom stalls. Truly wish they had separate restrooms for men and women. There is only 1 sink with soap and paper towels for a crowd up to 200 people that seemed to be there.

BEWARE, if your party decides to get up and go to the outside area during intermission to listen to the live d.j. and hang out with the outside crowd, LET THE FRONT STAFF KNOW THAT YOUR PARTY IS STILL HERE!!!! If you don't they will clean your entire area, regardless if you still have food and bottles of beverages and sell your sitting area to another party!

A good venue to visit maybe once a year unless you have a favorite band or entertainer that plays there often. And don't forget to pace your beverage intake so you do not have to use the community...

I’m super disappointed, embarrassed & hurt about my visit here on 8/13. As a BW I’ve never seen racism reversed EVER until tonight. Me & my Project Director met our clients here. He’s a super nice, professional, highly educated white male btw. At the door he was asked to remove his ball cap with the option to take it back to the vehicle or leave it with security. He respectfully obliged to leave it with them at the box to the right of the door. We were told to ask for it once we left. We get in and noticed several people with ball caps on. It was obvious it was a selective rule. He goes to the bar to order drinks returned & handed me his card and asked if I could order drinks instead. He was verbally told he wouldn’t be served. We then move to the patio area & he ordered a brisket potato and received a sausage stuck in the middle of the potato. It clearly wasn’t what he paid for or ordered. He finally gave up & left. We got his ball cap back while leaving & I told the security guard there were several people in there wearing ball caps & he said those were the owners friends. He literally was hurt. He deserved to be treated better & should have. If the shoe was on the other foot, WE WOULD HAVE WENT LIVE ON FB! Yet he supported this establishment with his $ and was unnecessarily disrespected. I’ll never bring any client here that...

Im visiting from Chicago!!

I definitely tried my best to avoid the club scene or anything that may be a bit too obscene--from the atmosphere--to the music.

However, this place seemed to have exceeded my expectations. The owner has something good going on here: (1)this place offers the best of both worlds: the outside is HIP HOP compounded with a little bit of TRAP music, and the Inside has a mixture of hip hop and R&B. (2) I actually felt safe in this place, as there were a ton of securities and perhaps may be even some uncover cops! (3) Last but certainly not least, the customer service was perfect. As soon as we came in the securities outside who were checking our bags did NOT make us feel like criminals. They were kind and pleasant, but READY for anybody who may try to get out of line. The girl who collected the cover charge was pleasant, the bartenders were efficient and pleasant, all of the securities in the inside were kind as well!! And did i tell u how the owner is so humble and kind as well! He helps out and was not even trying to "mack" on the ladies. He was focused on providing great and safe services for the people.

And as far as food, mannn they have that too. I heard it was delicious (obviously because they were sold out)!

Sincerely, The...

Nice live band with jazz, blues and hip hop music. Get there early when opens as it fills up pretty quickly and only opens Thursday-Saturday; cover charge is $10-20 pp. There's a live band indoor with open bar, I would advise to reserve seats for seating as there's no open seats available and you'll have to stand the whole night. The ambience is everything! Don't forget to step outside as there's a live DJ set up and open grill area to purchase food. The night I went for my husband's birthday there was a BBQ guy there. The loaded baked potato was my favorite. We enjoyed both indoor and outdoor areas the whole night. I may be telling my age but it reminds me of the early 90's hanging out at the park with friends and family chilling having a good ole time. Nobody really knows you but everyone was just so inviting as if they did. Love this place! My new hang out spot for the weekend. Review the website for more details!

Terrible experience. Tickets for general admission were $20 (no complaint about price). I bought 2 tickets. After taxes & fees, I paid $46. My date and I arrived at 8:15PM. The music of 'Zo! and Tall Black Guy' band was supposed to start at 8PM like the poster stated. They did not start until 9:21PM. We also expected BBQ to be sold all evening, but just like the band, the cooks/butchers did not show up until 9-9:15. (The taste of the food was great though) My date and I ended up leaving at 9:45 since we both had work the next day (came on a Thursday). The bartenders were nice, but everything else gave us a poor experience. I understand things happen, but the band arriving an hour and 20 minutes past the expectation was disappointing. If you're going to charge for entry, the bare minimum is the band starting on time.
