Shipley Do-Nuts — Restaurant in Dallas

Shipley Do-nuts is OVERPRICED, OVER RATED, and NOT WORTH IT!! The donuts and other items on their menu are made fresh every day, but don't have much flavor. They are not horrible quality, but not very good. They put small amounts of glaze, sugar, or other toppings on the donuts, sweet rolls, fritters, etc. THEIR PRICES ARE HIGH, COMPARED TO MOST INDIVIDUAL OWNED AND OPERATED DONUT SHOPS!!! For example, don't pay $1.60 for a buttermilk cake donut; you can get a better and less expensive, maybe $1.20 or less at a independent privately owned "mom and pop donut shop." For the most part, I go to individual owned donut shops and get better donuts for LESS MONEY. Shipley Do-nuts are more expensive due to franchising fees and / or advertising. Other chains like Krispy Kreme and Dunkin' Donuts are also low quality donuts on the bottom of my list! I even make donuts at home from time to time; they are donut shop quality, and have plenty of flavor and glaze. I am not stupid. I ordered shipleys through uber eats and it was so disappointing. I ordered cherry donuts, and normally they're so amazing. I've never ordered from this location but I wont be doing that again. The donuts themselves were stale and greasy, I'm not sure why they were stale but oh well. The actual problem for me was the icing, as I stated I got cherry. It was more like butter with red food coloring. There was absolutely no trace of cherry, they were also very sloppily iced. I'm not sure how that happens and I know that sounds weird but it was like very thick in one area and completely bare in the other area. I love Shipley's, but have had trouble with ordering and them getting my order right. the plexiglass makes it hard to see the donut selection and most importantly hard to talk to the kids that work there. They messed up my donut order this AM and I didn't realize until I had already left. Tried to call to talk to someone but they were closed and you can't leave a message. Between the people behind the counter being young and new to customer service, the plexiglass, and the mask wearing, communication is almost impossible.
