I first arrived at The Sons of Hermann Hall a few years ago to participate in the Thursday night Electric Campfire Jam, and what an experience it was. I was one of several guitar players in the crowd, along with a mandolin player, a cellist, a double-bass player, an accordion player and a few other musicians and listeners who drifted in and out of the room. It was a fantastic experience, and I returned on a fairly regular basis for a few months...it was a good place to try out new songs that I'd written but never really performed for an audience. I found a lot of support and encouragement from those fine folks gathered together in music. I haven't been back in far too long, but I hope to correct that...

I very much enjoyed the drinks as well; please do yourself a favor and try the margarita! Good prices for drinks, lots of fun activities scheduled.. I plan on becoming a regular here! What a place! (I totally could use my Credit Card here as well, I guess they have updated that since one of those reviews over...
Read moreA strange and magical venue. It feels like going to a show at the same place I used to have Boy Scout meetings. A homey little bar on the first floor is what initially draws you in, but the kindness of the staff and the unique atmosphere is what really endears. For those going to a show, be warned that it doesn't really seem like a venue at first, but the magic happens upstairs. If you've found the bar, you're in the right spot. Grab a drink and wait...
