I don’t think I’ve ever been to this Starbucks location but the one closer to my house didn’t have the tea I wanted, and this location was on my way to a meeting last Friday morning. I placed my order through the mobile app - it was showing 3-6 minutes prep time; I placed my order for a grande hot tea when I was 5 minutes from the store (at 8:25am); after placing the order, it showed a pickup time of 10 minutes from the time the order was placed (so 8:35am). When I arrived at 8:30am, there were at least 15 people waiting to pickup either an in-person or mobile order. My pickup time came and went; I waited another 10 minutes (until 8:45am, for a total of 20 minutes from the time I placed the order) and it still wasn’t ready. I told the barista at the pickup-end of the counter that I had to leave or would be late and to ignore my order or throw it out or whatever they needed to do, and I left without my tea. Her response was that they were working as fast as they could, which I don’t doubt - it was very clear that they were busy. I wasn’t rude to her and she wasn’t rude to me. But I just had to go. I honestly don’t know if this is an issue with the app not “talking to” the store to get an accurate wait/pickup time, or if this store is overworked/understaffed or maybe not working as efficiently as other locations. Whatever the issue, waiting 20+ minutes at a Starbucks is kind of ridiculous - food is served faster at a sit-down, full-service restaurant. As I was waiting, I overheard another customer telling someone that they try to avoid going to that location because it always takes long to get their order. So I guess if you know that about this specific location, and you’re not expecting “typical” Starbucks wait/pickup times, then you know to expect that and it won’t be an issue for you. The location I normally go to closer to my house always has my order ready within 5 minutes, even when I order food; so unfortunately this location was a huge...
Read moreI wasn’t going to write a review but since this just happened to me and I feel it should be told to others, I am going to.
I was at this Starbucks location from about 10:00 AM until 2:30 PM. That means I saw many people coming and going. I couldn’t help but notice that you needed to place an order before being allowed the bathroom code (a policy I’m familiar with). I watched this take place, however only certain people were told they needed to make a purchase. I saw as black customers were required to make purchases, however white and Latinx customers were not. I was trying to focus on studying but kept noticing how this “strictly enforced policy” was actually only enforced with some customers. I decided to test what I noticed at the end of my studying, and sure enough I was told I needed to place an order. This was after several people had come in, asked for the bathroom code (a few in Spanish), and were given it without any type of rebuttal. In fact, a customer had come in about an hour prior to me leaving and been given the bathroom code in Spanish with absolutely no purchase necessary.
I hope that this location (or any other that had this policy) ensures that ALL customers are told they need to order something prior to using the bathroom. I completely understand the policy and see the logic behind it, however it is upsetting to see it be enforced with people that only look like me and not every single customer. It was unfortunate for me to watch this happen the entire time I was there but I guess that is just the time we live in now. I am in no way thinking that this review is going to stop people from coming to this location and that is also not my intention. I just hope that this location can do a better job when it comes to enforcing a policy for...
Read moreI’ve been buying coffee and treats at the Casa Linda store for years now but not until today did I decide to write a review. I’ve always been happy with the service and quality of their products but as in most retail situations it’s the staff that makes or breaks it for me. During this Covid era they changed their hours of operation and I was not sure what time they closed so I telephoned and found out they were minutes from closing for the day, I inquired if there was any Lemon Pound Cake left, was told yes and I headed out. I arrived just moments after they closed and locked the doors but I yelled thru the crack in the door about the cake and they stopped cleaning the store long enough to unlock the door, turns out she had put a piece aside for me because of the call I had placed, but explained the cash register won’t function after closing so instead of just saying “sorry” she just said (and I could tell she was smiling under her face mask) as she handed me the cake, “just keep it and be sure and come back tomorrow”. ....and I will, for a cup of coffee and to pay for that delicious free piece of Lemmon Cake. I’ll be coming back again and again. Count on it ! Thanks From me to that sweet girl and the genius that hired her...... Five Stars all...
