I showed up at The Kava Bar the day it opened in North Dallas. I greatly appreciated the knowledge the Kava tender offered regarding their product offerings as I was not familiar with the Kava product . I was offered a free Bula with the Kavatender and quickly became a regular. Chris, a Kavatender at the time was kind, knowledgeable and worked with a true servants heart. His co-Kava tenders Chrissy and Michele are equally kind and knowledgeable. I love the gentle relaxation Kava provides and consider it an excellent and safe product with non addictive properties. I’m probably one of the more senior customers and enjoy the company of “youth” who frequent the establishment. As an owner of businesses, I’d hire Chris, Chrissy or Michelle any day of the week but would never attempt to break up such an awesome team. Chris’s exceptional work ethic and dedication earned him a promotion opening and operating new bars as its popularity quickly rises. Any organization should feel blessed to have him. Love the people, the product and the atmosphere. Want to meet interesting, kind and entertaining people and chill with a delicious, refreshing drink, The Kava...
Read moreLook no further for an example of gentrification at its worst. The drinks taste like something in a tin can off a neglected bottom shelf of the Dollar Tree and have zero mood-altering impact. I was looking for somewhere to have a shot of espresso and get some work done and instead I'm dragged into a contrived onboxious salespitch if you walk in here you will immediately be pestered by the "bartender" Chris. Try to be polite and go easy on tbe guy bc he seems like he migjt be on the spectrum, he won't shut up abput a single topic while he stares down at the floor but he still manages, like a desperate robot, to sputter out a rehearsed monologue selling the bogus medicinal properties of Kava. I (Theres actually strong evidence kava causes severe liver damage, google it) I felt sorry for the guy he was trying so hard to convince people tp try the Kava Things must have not been doing well for him as a used car salesman. Somethibg to remember: A bum on the street can convince you to give them a dollar. Its not bc theyre a good salesman. .On the plus side, the space is...
Read moreThe Kava Bar was a relaxing and fun space. They had different games inside you could play with friends/family. My friends and I had a great time at their yoga and book swap event. However, we unfortunately did not digest the kava well later that day. We have no familiarity with kava and when we were presented with the free drinks, we were told that it will make us relax and tingle our tongues. We should have asked more questions, but we assumed it was similar to tea or coffee. Two hours later, my friend and I were extremely nauseous, hot, and weak. We tried to eat, and our stomachs couldn’t handle any food. We ended up throwing up multiple times the rest of the day. Though I like the idea of creating an alcohol free space to socialize, I wish the staff educated us more on what we were drinking. We had no idea it would cause us to be so sick, and it almost felt like we were drugged. Though I know their intentions were well, I recommend doing your own...
