This was my second result under "steakhouses near me". Calling this place a steakhouse is like calling cracker barrel a fried chicken place. They are marketed on the charbroil grill they use.
You order like a lubys, except there are only two sides that automatically come with everything (except a hamburger which just gets french fries).
I walked up to order, the hispanic lady looked at me and I made contact and asked politely if this is where I place an order? She turned, talked to the person at the grill for a little then came back and looked at me again. I repeated the question and she said yes "what you want?".
I tried the 10 oz ribeye which was 14.99. A pretty good deal, i asked her about sides and she said it comes with baked potato and salad. So following the others I moved down the line and grabbed a small salad bowl and started putting toppings on it. (It's a non refillable salad bar). At the end I paid for the ribeye and a sweet tea. I asked for light ice, she prepped the drink and sat it down in front of me. It was packed as hard as it could be with ice. Before I mentioned it she said oh you wanted light ice, grabbed it dumped it and refilled it with less ice.
I then paid sat at my table with my number and ate my salad while waiting for my steak and baked potato. The ranch dressing had a playdough taste that you typically find at really cheap pizza places but regardless I ate it.
Finally the steak and baked potato arrived (i had been told previously you get one small thing of sour cream and shredded cheese extra was 25 cents) and when it arrived I received neither. I asked her for them and she brought them.
The baked potato was alright, had butter and with the sour cream and cheese it wasnt bad at all...probably the best part of this meal.
The steak came and was overcooked significantly...I ordered medium this was well done.
The steak had absolutely not been seasoned or marinated at all. It was as plain as plain can be. It tasted like the charcoal used to cook it, and nothing else.
I had drank about half my sweet tea and it was refilled by the server, she brought it back to me again packed with ice (again i had explicitly stated light ice) and this time when i drank it the straw sucked up a bunch of undissolved granulated sugar.
At that point I left. Will...

Read moreWe have been going here for years but over the past years it has been a hit or miss with them. Which is very unfortunate because we really love this establishment but the food has not been of best quality lately and the service. Just yesterday we placed a to go order and they handled our order so poorly. Three of the meals where burgers and they did not care to use mismatched burger buns, the fries and onion rings where so incredibly battered they were are smooshed together and we were missing items. Their broccoli soup is a popular item with our family but as well some times it is so disgusting it’s as if it was mixed with old soup and new soup and flour was added to thicken the soup giving it a really bad taste. It’s so frustrating that because they saw it was a to go order they handled it so poorly because if we would have chosen to eat there they would not have given us the meals they gave us which we paid for. They really need to work on having consistent food quality and work on the customer service they provide some of the staff has a very bad attitude. Several other times they have messed up our orders and when I check my meal before taking it home and as them to correct instead of attempting to fix the mistake they made they give an attitude and have treated treated us so rudely. I really hope they reassess the quality of their food and customer service as it’s been open for...
