Well I'm shocked and disappointed. Made a reservation for my moms birthday two days before and confirmed. Reservation for three. Got there 1/27 and sat down and was waited on by Carlos. The table itself was not cleaned properly either… that comes from a person who’s been a bus girl before. He got us our drinks which was just sprite for me as the water was already on the table. My mom and sister initially said they were okay with just water. We were not given a menu at all (this was the first 10/15 minutes of sitting down). More time went by maybe 25 more minutes and another lady came to ask about our drinks then my sister asked for a moscato, she got her drink and still no menu. People kept bumping into my moms chair and she was scooted all the way into the table, the server saw and didn’t do anything to help. We moved the table a little so she could stop getting bumped into. We continued to see groups and other couples getting sat down after us having menus brought to them immediately by the same server Carlos. I kept giving them a benefit of the doubt thinking of they must’ve forgot maybe? So I talked it over with my sister and then we saw everyone else getting food already the same people that were sat down AFTER us and we still didn’t have a menu? The waiter did not come back to check on us so my sister had to try to get his attention so we could ask for a menu. No we were not rude just asked “hey shouldn’t we have menus?” My sister is the kindest person you’ll meet, seriously. Carlos then says something along the lines of “oh yeah here you go” grabs menus off the table behind us and gives it to us. He does not even give us 2 minutes and I’m not even exaggerating… he turns around for less than 1 minute before we can properly look over the menu and asks if “are you ready to order?”. Are you kidding me? We had JUST gotten the menu YOU all forgot to give us and won’t even give us 5 minutes to look it over? Now I knew that the way we were being treated was not just in my head but was on purpose. I can’t imagine why were were treated so poorly but we were the only Hispanics in the building. So my mom understandably wanted to leave, it was her birthday and was getting treated like this? My sister asked for the check and they took ANOTHER 10 minutes to bring it to her, she put her card in the slot and Carlos took it. When I say they took another 15 minutes to charge her card.. why? She had to get up and ask where her card was. I’ve been a server before as well it does not take that long to run a card?? There was three people at the computer to charge cards at, why does it take 3 people to charge a card? Anyways we just wanted to leave and get some food, we were hungry. So no DO NOT COME HERE. Servers will discriminate and treat you poorly. THIS...

The jazz quartet, The Brian Piper Jazz Quartet featuring Chuck Redd on Vibraphone was nothing short of spectacular, providing an exceptional backdrop to a memorable evening. Each musician brought their unique flair, creating a captivating and soulful ambiance that made the night truly special.
The culinary experience was equally impressive. I had the Chicken Nicholas, which was cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The cheesecake for dessert was divine, offering a creamy texture and rich taste that was the perfect end to a delightful meal. Pairing it with a glass of exquisite red wine was an excellent choice, adding to the overall dining pleasure.
A huge shoutout to Tony and Lisa, the wonderful owners who made us feel incredibly welcome. Their passion for what they do shines through in every aspect of The Kitchen Café, from the thoughtfully curated menu to the exceptional service. The wait staff were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, ensuring that every need was met with a smile.

Read moreIn the heart of North Dallas you will find this magical place. Quite ordinary looking from the outside, as strip mall restaurants tend to be, however, once inside, you are swept away into a musical and dining experience reminiscent of a fine jazz club. The kind of club you would expect to find in a city known for its fine jazz clubs (which Dallas is not). On this particular night we caught a performance by Aubree-Anna who happens to be the top rated jazz singer in all of North Texas, and voted one of the most beautiful women in this city. Although Aubree-Anna is absolutely deserving of all of the accolades she receives, the venue is a star of its own. The first thing that draws your attention is the beautiful intimate stage with a grand piano, and a series of beautiful guitars hung on the wall. The room is bathed in soft blue lights and there is a full bar. The tables and seating are comfortable, the service is excellent, and the food equally so. On the nights they have music, the owner, Tony Hakim will usually join the band on stage to sing and play his guitar and he is outstanding! The place only seats around 80 people so make sure to make...
