Ima be very honest. Last night was the first time i went to this place. Ordered broccoli with beef but wheres the beef at? 😒 we ate most veggies and thought there was no meat for a second only to realize it had mostly small pieces and i mean small like if it was for a baby or idk if it was like leftover meat???? Very chewy too. It was mostly carrots and broccoli tossed in some sauce that i could not figure out the flavor, it was just off, it even left a weird after taste as if the meat and sauce were old or going bad … The “fried” rice actually seemed and felt like it was regular or steamed old rice and someone just mixed it with either a bit of soy sauce or some kind of sauce that doesn’t have flavor and it was plainno egg no veggies no nothing! So not stirred fried rice. Also ordered deluxe chicken broccoli and sweet and sour chicken and IDK what that chicken was but it was very chewy ☹️ and it was mixed in some kind of gooey white something as if it was starch and water and they forgot to actually add the sauce to thicken it and there was no broccoli just cabbage onion and idk what other vegetables that were not cooked all the way. That whole side was covered in some white coating/sauce it was weird. Not even seasoned. 😩The only thing my son and i ate and enjoyed were the smoothies. Those were bomb, one was a little too sweet but still enjoyable. My kid really liked both. Ordered honeydew and got him kiwi, kiwi one tasted like watermelon though. 🤷🏻‍♀️💆🏻‍♀️ we liked the eggrolls we ordered and some of the broccoli that was NOT soked in that black sauce that i couldnt figure out what it tasted like and tasted off, and the sweet and sour chicken. That battered chicken was crispy; that was the only nice thing. which btw the S&S sauce was on the side and didnt taste of anything and was very runny as if it was watered down. Very sad this used to be mine and my family's favorite place to go we haven't been there in months probably about a year because we saw a roach in the bathroom we finally gave it another chance tonight which is October 2019 and to our disappointment there was a hair in our food there was no body working there that looked like they had this kind of hair.. if you use your imagination hard enough you can imagine where this hair might have came from gross... It was specifically in the lo mein that they now charge a dollar nine to upgrade to the lo mein and it was just gross the the cook happened to be bussing some tables as I found it he did try to make it right and gave us a free plate to go but in all reality I'm questioning even eating it it is a shame how much does place has fallen I'm pretty sure they make very good money because they do get very busy but they have not seemed to invest any kind of money into the business I am nobody to judge don't know the owners situation but I hope that their business practices become better. Was really disappointed with my last few visits... I have have been coming here off and on once or twice a week for over 8 years... I've always enjoyed the food for the most part... this last time I went there, there was a sign for 12 fried scallops and fries for$.25 hanging in the window... went inside to order and the owner/manager said the order only came with 6 fried scallops and cost $6.45...told him about the sign in the window and then said it was old sign... but then when I said that is what the sign says...he just told me they were out of that food and he was very rude to me... for a customer who spends$30 to $40 dollars a week there you would think a few cents wouldn't matter to him at least till he could take his sign down... this person has been okay but lately has been very rude and inconsiderate and for the most part I can get over... but for him to lie to me and act disrespectfully to me whom I thought was a pretty loyal customer I guess I'll have to find another Chinese place in the Grove to get my fix from...too bad I really...
