Bear Coast Coffee — Restaurant in Dana Point

I don't understand why this place is so hyped up. A small plain coffee is over $3 which is ridiculously over priced. Not only that, their coffee tastes like it has cleaner fluid in it, which I would know from cleaning out my kurig. Maybe if you guys taste test your own coffee you would understand what I mean because what you're serving to your customers is unsatisfactory. People are better off going across the street to the Buena Vista Market to get their coffee because of how little it costs and also because their large coffee is way more cheaper than your guys small coffee. Not only that, their coffee tastes more fresh and doesn't have the taste of cleaning chemicals in it. Also, all of my coworkers and clients who have ever gone to Bear Coast had nothing but complaints also. So, fix up your act Bear Coast Coffee or just take the Coffee out of the name for the sake of your other customers because I am not going...

Whenever I am in San Clemente I like to visit Bear Coast because they make their almond milk in house.🙂

Such nice people behind the counter a definite local favorite. I LOVE matcha lattes and theirs is pretty good. However, in all the years I’ve visited it seems the matcha is constantly watery. Making a matcha latte means mixing powder into a paste with a minimal amount of hot water. Then add the honey to the paste (if that’s your choice). Mix again. Then add paste to cup, ice then milk of choice.

I understand the logic of softening honey with hot water but that just adds more water in addition to ice.

Melting honey in the paste makes a great smooth finish!

Otherwise love their cute shop and you can’t beat...

Not great. Went for a light bite.My husband likes machiatto and chocolate croissant. I usually like ice tea and avocado toast buuuuut. My tea was great I got a ginger plum which was pretty good. My avocado toast was not what I was expecting. the toast tasted cheap, the avo was brown and the tomatoes were not good. I ended up throwing half of it away. My husband didnt like the coffee it was too strong and the flavor was not great. the croissant was dry and tasted old he also ended up throwing half away.
