Cocktails: Mai Thai cocktails were the best thing on the menu
Food: I ordered the Oysters Rockefeller and for $18.00 they brought out 4 tiny oysters with a few pieces of overcooked spinach on top. I asked our waiter, Andrew (who was very polite and seemed almost embarrassed by them) if that was the usual way they came out and he said he would check with the kitchen. An hour later he came back with my appetizer after we had finished our entree's and apologized that they were out of the items used for the Rockefeller dish and comp'd the 4 oysters to our table (it would have been nice for them to tell us up front when we ordered instead of hoping we wouldn't notice and eat them anyways)
The crabcake burgers were just a standard overcooked hamburger patty with a crabcake on top to dress it up. The duck confit fries were good as long as you ate them quickly. Once they cooled down they upset our stomach.
Steak & lobster duo for $78.00 - You'll leave hungry as the portion size is very small (4 bites for lobster and about 5 for the NY steak which was also average.
Service: Andrew was very attentive and kept checking on our table. He seemed tired as had shared that he had been working long shift but still managed to accommodate the family - thank you Andrew!
Management: This was the big downer. It was my nephews birthday and he left his birthday card on the table when we walked out. I noticed a busboy wearing a bandana that was picking up our table when I walked out from the restroom, so when my nephew said he forgot his card we thought it was a simple fix considering we had just walked out of the restaurant. Upon re-entering the restaurant, we were told by the manager Sabrina who seemed annoyed that we were asking for her assistance as well as the other gentleman that was working the front on Saturday evening 11/18 at 10:00 PM that the card was nowhere to be found in the restaurant. When I provided the description of the busser who was picking up the table, I was avoided by the management and Sabrina kept insisting that she was messaging her staff to see if anyone had seen it. One of the managers was looking through the menu's but kept shaking his head when I told him who might have taken it.
We left the restaurant with Sabrina telling us that she would contact us if it were located. Well, what a surprise but on the following day when we called to follow-up, the cash and gift card had been recovered but NOT the birthday card! I don't know about anyone else but this is now considered theft! The proper thing to do would have been for an employee to turn in any item left by a customer to management and not open it, take the cash and gift card and dispose of the birthday card. If it was "recovered" as Sabrina had indicated how is this employee being held accountable?
This place needs to train their employees about honesty and management not to cover up theft! How do you explain this to your customer?
Not only were we not treated right and made to feel like we were the issue when we inquired about the stolen card and money but management did NOTHING to reach out to us...
Read moreMy husband and I celebrated our anniversary and really our first dinner out since Covid started. We had heard great things about Glasspar, and were looking forward to dinner. I enjoyed the outside dining however the dining experience was less than what we expected. We ordered a bunch of smaller plates in two waves as tapas-style meal, but within 10 minutes of being seated all our food was delivered at the same. We sent one (the one large dish we ordered) back because we couldn't eat all the hot dishes. The server got really weird and it became a very awkward dining experience. We didn't want our wedding anniversary dinner rushed and over in 30 minutes—the anniversary, which was noted in our reservation, was never mentioned, and as a server I expected some acknowledgement or warmth. Our server left mid-sentence as we were asking about desserts and never asked off we wanted drinks, we had to chase him down. Asking for our meal to be paced out felt like we were being punished for something a server should know to do. It felt unwelcoming, and the food...well, also mostly disappointing. Fries were great, stone fruit salad was tasty, lobster roll was ok, dry and had cartilage(?) in it, octopus was ok and the Brussels were ok. All in all, a sad anniversary experience that we felt rushed, punished and unwelcome. Not sure we'll be back, and as locals,...
Read moreComedy of errors! I spoke with a manager the night before we arrived because we may have had two additions to our party and asked if that was possible. She explained that they had reserved a cozy indoor booth for 4 that could not accommodate 6. So the 4 of us arrived to be seated at a middle table by two large parties. When I asked about sitting at the empty high top table or a booth the hostess said she would ask management and came back to say it was not an option. We then waited for 30 minutes for a cocktail and were served oysters without utensils. My husband had to get up and find some for us so we could eat the oysters. Once our meal came they served me something entirely different than what was ordered. The server then came over to tell me that she pressed the wrong button and that they were out of what I did order. At that point I just asked for a plate to share the other dishes. We never saw a manager. The server came back at the end to tell us that she bought our round of drinks. (I am hoping she didn't really have to buy them!) I was in the restaurant business for many years and in my opinion this restaurant is very poorly managed. I am not sure what has happened to good customer service but we did not feel the love here. On a side note the food and drinks were very good but when the service is not great it spoils...
