Santana's Restaurant & Grill — Restaurant in Danville

Horrible experience tonight!!! I have been coming here spending $50-$75 every Wednesday and sometimes on the weekends, and I always tip 20% or more regardless of service, and what pisses me off is this is the 2nd time in 2 weeks I get there to sit down and am told a different cut off time. A couple Wednesday's ago I was told the cut off time was 9:45pm, well I got there minutes before then, and by the time the waitress got up there to the host stand, it was already 9:45pm. Well tonight, Wednesday October 30th, I got there at 9:38, it had just turned 9:39pm and the guy who says he's the manager on duty said we already stopped seating, the cut off is 9:40pm, well how convenient he waits the minute to walk over to say we're too late. I asked to speak to a higher up manager and he said I'm the higher one up and I said I wanna speak to who's above you and he said that would be the general manager and that person isn't here until Friday. I've spent countless money here, in the thousands since I've been coming. It's always been my youngest favorite place to go, well there's plenty of other Mexican restaurants to choose from in Danville, so I'll give them my business from now on! Food is absolutely delicious! Service is good and fast. They serve a lot of food for a reasonable price. I encourage dining in when visiting Santana’s. However, take out is absolutely the worst! I have attempted to order take out twice. The 1st time the wait for our food was greater than an hour, when they told us 30mins. My food was incorrect, but it was remade correctly and swiftly. My 2nd experience with takeout was horrible. I waited an hour and 20 minutes for our food that we never received! Several other customers were in there waiting for their food, complaining about the excessive wait time and requesting refunds. The staff was quickly walking by take out customers, trying to avoid talking to us about our missing orders. My husband and I have decided against eating takeout from their establishment. If they are overextended with dining in customers, then I strongly encourage they should close the restaurant to take out orders during the weekend. Edit 6/29/25: we've gotten take out a few times in recent years and everything has been great, flavorful food and good service. Tonight was a shock. Nothing had flavor, clearly no seasoning at all. We add salt, pepper, lime and hot sauce to make things palatable but there was no saving the side dishes (black beans, refried beans, rice). This was a very disappointing meal. We used to really enjoy Santana's. We liked trying things from the authentic menu, as well as their healthier options. However, my most recent visit showed me they do not value me as a customer. I waited nearly an hour for a take out order. They confessed 25 minutes in that they had forgotten about me and never put my order in to the kitchen.
