Several months ago we pulled in to order food and the line was so long we decided to go to the pull in menus on the side where they’ll bring out the food to you. We sat there for so long before someone finally told us through the menu that these aren’t working. Which 1- doesn’t make any sense seeing as she said that through the menu but 2- why is there no signs stating this so we don’t sit there wasting time and instead pull up to the regular drive through? We weren’t the only ones who pulled into these menus but everyone who did sat there a for a while as well before finally just going to the main drive through or leaving. I believe they are still claiming that none of those menus are working. Roughly six weeks ago, we tried to order shakes with our meals. We were told the ice cream machine was down. Bummer but no big deal. We haven’t been back in a while. Last week we tried again. When we pulled in it was almost like they were closed and it was just early evening. (This has happened on several occasions). Almost all the lights were out and yet they’re open? once we got to the menu we were told cash only and didn’t have cash so we left before ordering. Last night we tried again, ordered our meal, tried to order shakes but were told once again ice cream machine down. At this point I’m thinking this has to be another McDonald’s where they just don’t want to either make it or clean the machine. Annoyed this time, we finish ordering and pull up to the menu where the lady then tells us it’s cash only. AFTER we already ordered and didn’t have cash. We had to leave and find somewhere else to eat. I pulled up the reviews last night and noticed a review from an hour before stating they had the same issue where they ordered and got to the window just to be told cash only. Another one from the same night stating they had cash to pay with but they were told it then had to be either exact change or CARD. So this clearly means they just don’t want to work and the card machine is not down. It doesn’t matter how you pay they’ll find something wrong with it so you leave. If you don’t want to work find somewhere you can just stand...
Read moreThis is the first time in many years I have been to a Sonic, because so many have shut down. I was visiting Danville with my husband and son, and saw one so we decided to give it a go. Big mistake:
Not only were the prices high for simple meal options, but the food was GROSS. I ordered a foot long cony and only finished a bit of it; not because I wasn't hungry (I was), but because the hotdog had the look, feel, and taste of cheap microwave food. The hotdog was way too salty and had a weird consistency, and the chili didn't have much flavor at all, which at least helped cut the salt from the hotdog weiner. I also ordered chili cheese fries. I received a soggy looking, tiny tray with stuff that looked like someone threw it all together at home and microwaved it.
Also, we received NO cutlary or straws and had to get the worker's attention to get them after trying to eat without them and failing because everything was too mushy.
Final issue: The burger my husband ordered was gross. What I mean is, it had the appearance and consistency of those "back in the day" school lunch hamburgers. It didn't taste like meat and especially didn't feel like meat. Tasted like a cheaply made, thin, mostly soy patty. And, my son's chicken sandwich was SO dry it was inedible. Like, eating it dried mouths out so it was hard to swallow. We ended up tossing out all but the milkshakes.
The ONLY saving grace about this experience was the milkshakes that were simply "okay".
We spent around $50 on 3 meals with 3 milkshakes, and it was just an overall awful experience we will never repeat. If I ever stop by a Sonic again, it will be to grab a Cherry Limeade which is...
Read moreI waited in the drive thru line for I don't know how long. I plucked my eyebrows, sent some emails, took my medicine, posted on fb. You name it. But I wasnt going to be rude, not at all. I was patient. I finally got my food handed out. The fries were cold, brown, and dry. I handed them back and asked if I could have fresh, or at least warm fries. The cashier goes to the back, then comes back and says we are going to pull you up. I said for what. She said to wait for your fries. I said you have a line around the building, your fries should be constantly being dropped, I dont need fresh out of the oil, but at least warm. Then the manager comes back with some more fries. They also were not hot, brown and cooked in old oil. He said he was sorry, I thanked him and pulled off. Tried a fry, he brought me more of the nastiest fries I have had in a long while. So its not the employees, its the managers job to ensure employees are doing things properly. The bacon cheeseburger was also barely warm. So almost $10 dollars for no fries, and about half a burger, since it wasnt good either. Why eat it you ask? Because I am diabetic, and trying to get food to keep my sugar from dropping low. I was traveling too, so I had already been there far too long just for fast food. The cashier said they were understaffed. I was thinking if that was me, I would make sure I am thorough, the food is on point, and be very apologetic. I cant be mad at people I see really doing their best. I dont serve food to people that I wouldn't want myself. I usually like Sonic, this time I don't know if I will ever go to...
