Taqueria La G — Restaurant in Danville

Service was AWFUL! Went with the fam, my mom dad and sister all got margaritas. They also ordered waters. Mom never got margarita and my sister never got her water. The next thing was that we ordered two queso and one chorizo appetizer. It took almost 50 minutes for us to get those. To top it all off, it took 10-15 minutes before they even waited on us. Food was cold, both the appetizer and the entree. She never brought napkins. My dad ordered a beer and asked for a lime and she NEVER brought it. At the end of the meal, I asked the waitress to bring the checks separate. Had to walk up to the bar because she wouldn’t come check on us. She said sure. Instead, she continued talking to a friend and then continued to wait on other table. The waiting on other tables is fine, but the fact that she kept just socializing was what made me mad. Finally! Living in Danville these last 3 years after growing up in California I finally had a legit burrito! So damn good! Called in an order to enjoy on a lazy Sunday..YES A NEW RESTAURANT OPEN ON SUNDAYS IN DANVILLE!!! Burrito Mexicano with Birria!! Another Burrito Mexicano as well but with no meat. Also got an order of Flautas!!! Hard to decide which was the best! Solid portion size, tons of flavor, fresh, fresh, fresh!! I've been involved in the opening of a few restaurants and the first few days are guaranteed to be hectic and stressful. Most times the inevitable kinks affect the service and/or the food but NOT HERE! Taqueria La G is KILLING IT!!

This is truly an authentic Mexican cuisine spot. It is not Tex-Mex, meaning no crunchy tacos - only handmade corn masa tortillas, no chips and salsa when you sit to dine in because that is not what is normally done when you sit to eat street style food in Mexico or even in restaurants. Some dishes will take a little longer to cook and prepare just depending on what it is because everything truly is made fresh to order.
