We couldn't wait to get out of the restaurant, as we were leaving our server asked "did I say something wrong?". He knew he was wrong, which is why he asked. Bottom line, the food was not bad and it was presented fairly well, but the service we had was uncomfortable. We were bummed because we were in the mood for Mexican food and we like to support local businesses. We will never go back. Read on if you want facts and details. Here goes... we walked in and there was only one other person besides the server in the restaurant, we asked to sit by the window and we were told that that section wasn't open and he went on to explain that it was too complicated to serve in that part of the restaurant, I had to ask get chips and salsa and he was like oh you want that? Um, yes! Later on I would have to ask for more. It was lunch time so I asked for a lunch menu which he said he doesn't bring to people unless they ask, and went on to say the best thing they have is carne asada, he mentioned you can get tacos anywhere and I said well I want to get tacos ( the dinner specifically) . My husband ordered STEAK flautas dinner. He ate the first flauta and said he thought it was beef but the next was chicken, once we mentioned it to our server he took the entire plate in the back and made us a new one but not before he went on to say that all flautas are traditionally made with chicken. Which my husband said the option was right on the menu and it's says it's an extra $2 for the steak. So he made my husband's dish again but at this point we just did not like his vibe, we did not like our servers attitude, he's trying to upsell us to carne asada and tell us that we shouldn't be ordering the tacos and now we're wrong for wanting steak flautas, plus who has to ask for chips and salsa. He brought us the dish back from the kitchen and my husband's like I don't even want to eat this so, I'm like can we get a to-go container and the bill (our server then replied "your husband ate half of his food and I brought him a whole new plate") ( correction, he ate one flauta and had one bite of a second and noticed it was chicken and did not eat anything else at this point) . We paid the bill and then we walked out. My husband didn't have one bite of his new dish, we left it at the table, covered our bill and will never be back. As we're getting up to leave he noticed we're not taking our food and I said we just did not have a good experience here so we're not taking the food and we paid the bill and we're leaving and that's when he was like "did I say something wrong?". Yeah you did, it wasn't pleasant to be around him, we had a simple fix, we weren't blaming anybody that the food was wrong but we certainly don't need to hear excuses when we ask for steak ones. Just make the dish right without commentary and come backs. Side note: I don't know if I paid for the lunch portion or the dinner portion but it was $14 for two tacos and two things of rice. But he went on to say that the lunch menu is two small tacos if you get dinner it's better, but then I still only got two tacos, so confusing. ( on a positive note the tacos did have good flavor and I would not consider them small. So my guess is, dinner is two big tacos, Idk? We love Mexican food and have several reviews on here of different ones we've gone to, we enjoy writing...
Read moreI went to this restaurant 22 years ago when they first opened and walked out right after they had the nerve to serve me stale chips. Yesterday I drove by and was surprised to see they were still open so me and a friend decided to give them another chance. The owner took our order after I requested to see the lunch menu. We both ordered enchiladas suisas (2) with rice n beans for $12 each. We saw in small print Margaritas were $5 so we ordered 2 margaritas. Wow, was I in for a surprised to find out that it was only for Mondays and was for a small margarita.) The owner was very nice at first and was telling me about how business was slow and how he makes the best steaks and serves them with a guarantee to be perfect. The food was actually tasty. The margarita was huge but a light pink color and we ordered Strawberry Margaritas go figure, but we were thirsty so we just drank it thinking $5 for water, not bad. It was blah. Nothing spectacular. We asked for the bill and I almost died when I saw $18 for a margarita. My total lunch bill was $65 for LUNCH. THAT IS INSANE. Nobody has the nerve to charge $18 for a watered down margarita. I asked the owner if this was a mistake and he said no. He said that's the normal price for a margarita and that he went to the local restaurants and that they charge even more. I know for a fact that was BS. He said most customers come and ask for a medium margarita so I asked why when he asked if we wanted margaritas he never mentioned sizes or prices. I reminded him that when i asked for the lunch menu I was trying to save money he should have known better and mentioned the sizes and prices. He had the nerve to say that he would have given me a discount for the drink if I didn't drink it all. I told him that after I saw what he was charging, you bet I was going to drink it all. I actually finished it while we were discussing his outrageous prices. He said he'd make it up to us by giving us a shot of his homemade tequila. I said no because we are not drinkers. He then came to our table with 2 $3 coupons for our next visit. I told him to keep them since I don't plan on ever returning to his restaurant with those ridiculous prices. He said this was the first time anyone ever complained about the prices. I told him that I was sure that if they were dissatisfied they would give him a bad review instead of mentioning it to his face and I proceeded to go online and show him his reviews online but he didn't want to hear it. They had complained about the prices but he doesn't seem to care. He asked what I wanted from him. He said if I wanted him to give me back the money for the drinks and I told him yes, if not half because the prices were ridiculous. He had the audacity to pull out 5 1$Dollar bills and put them on the table and said rudely " here you go". I told him that was an insult and to keep his money that he needed more than I did. I paid the bill and left. He was so condescending I have never encountered such a pathetic desperate owner of a restaurant. Worst part, when I got food poisoning from the food. Don't waste you money or time. There are lots of better Mexican...
Read moreJust got out the restaurant worst experience of my life! We have been coming here for months and after waiting 10 minutes at the entrances waiting to be seated mind you the restaurant was empty literally nobody was there we made noises to get the attention of the people in the kitchen but no one comes out until a phone call came through…a new waiter comes out that we have never seen attended us btw it’s Monday, Margaritas are $5 we order are usual and we are eating I finish my first drink while I keep eating my food he brings out another one without me asking so I was a little sus about it but I let it slide by since it’s $5 and we have never had a problem with the restaurant but when it came to pay we were charged $99.83. Each Margarita was $15.95 for a total of $63.80 only on drinks!!! I waved my hand to the waiter and asked him why the price he said he gave us a different kind of margarita we were confused since when he asked us we stated which flavor we wanted and that it was regular since he offered us “Gold with Grand Mariner para que esté más deliciosa” but we reject the offer never he said that the special was only on the regular margarita. So I told him that it was a mistake I didn’t even finish explaining what the problem was and he quickly said it was the margarita I gave you give the medium size I said that in the advertisement it doesn’t mention anything about size or flavor then he said yes it’s because of the flavor so I told him Sir that’s false advertisement and he goes all defensive and says don’t pay me anything since now he had other customers in the restaurant I told him that was not the problem that I was willing to pay for the price advertised yet he kept saying No, no just go don’t pay I still went up to Mr. Enrique really disappointed and payed him what we were supposed to be charged and I tried talking to him and he just kept saying nooo don’t pay me. I will never come back again every other month my partner and I come here and it’s disappointing how they treated us and tried...
