Pirate's Pizza and Wings — Restaurant in Dauphin Island

Dear lord help this pizza place… the pricing on the website was wrong, and the employee said “We know the website is wrong, nothing we can do about it”. That should have been a red flag but we ordered anyway. After waiting over an hour, we received our pizzas.

After driving back home we opened our pizza boxes to see a double pepperoni pizza, which costs extra and boasts “50 pepperonis per pizza” we received a pizza with barely 2 pepperonis per slice.

Second we received a Philly cheesesteak pizza, which claims “A healthy portion of petite filet” In which had zero meat on the pizza.

After calling the manager he offered to make a Philly cheesesteak pizza again, but blamed us saying we ordered it with no meat. They offered to do nothing about the pepperoni pizza we got charged for, without them properly dressing the pizza.

They were about to close and asked if we would take a new Philly pizza tomorrow and we asked for it tonight because we still wanted to eat. When we picked up the new pizza they told us the reason they didn’t put steak on it the first time was because they were out of it, but had just said we ordered it without.

There isn't much food on Daughin. This place is the single redeeming restaurant saving the entire island from being an abyss of mediocracy when it comes to food.

We were the only guests in the restaurant. I immediately notice the restaurant was very clean and had an acceptable ambiance. The AC was pumping, and there were sports on the TVS. We were seated quickly by a very kind waitress. She explained the menu thoroughly, answered all of our questions, and gave her honest recommendations. She provided excellent service and we never wanted for anything.

The pizza was superb. Don't expect NY style thin crust. This pizza is a little thicker than that, but exceptionally cheesy and flavorful. The quality of the mozzarella they use is great, and it's overall a great pie. I would take it over any chain restaurant and over many pizzerias I've visited in my life.

The wings came out piping hot, and were adequately sauced and quite large! These are wings I would take over almost any wing restaurant I've been to.

Overall, I give the place high marks. It's probably the best food...

What a great experience. We did not know what to expect when we walked into this joint. The tables were full so we sat at the bar. It was nice seeing the large booths to fit the big families. We met Will as we sat at the bar and he was the nicest person. They have a handful of signature cocktails and we had to try two of them. Will was an expert on mixing the cocktails, great conversationalist, and he introduced us to more patrons he knew sitting at the bar and eating. Very nice and welcoming atmosphere. We ordered a large 16 inch pizza, with Pepperoni, Sausage and Mushrooms, the ole’ PMS pizza! One of the best pizzas I have had with a lot of toppings on it. We were over full once we were done. We boxed it up and continued our conversations with the newly introduced friends. The entire staff was working hard and all of them check on you. It is a tag team operation!
