A Fiery Feast at Dave's Hot Chicken As a lover of all things spicy, I was drawn to Dave's Hot Chicken by the promise of Nashville-style hot chicken with a kick. And let me tell you, they did not disappoint. The "Hot" level of spice was a fantastic balance of fiery heat and delicious flavor, a step up from the "Medium" but not so intense as to overwhelm the taste of the chicken itself. The star of the show, of course, was the chicken. The tenders were incredibly juicy and tender on the inside, with a light, crispy breading that held up perfectly to the signature "rub." The slider, a masterful blend of that same chicken on a soft potato bun with crunchy pickles and kale slaw, was a true delight. The combination of textures and flavors was a symphony in every bite, with the cool, crisp slaw and pickles providing a welcome counterpoint to the heat. Speaking of the heat, Dave's Hot Chicken has a range of seven different spice levels, from "No Spice" all the way up to the legendary "Reaper." This is a great feature, as it allows everyone to find their perfect level of heat, whether they're just starting their spicy food journey or they're a seasoned veteran. The fries were a worthy sidekick, perfectly crispy and seasoned. They were the ideal vessel for sopping up the delicious Dave's sauce. The sauce, a creamy and tangy concoction, was a perfect match for both the chicken and the fries. Overall, Dave's Hot Chicken is a must-try for any fan of Nashville hot chicken. The quality of the ingredients, the perfect execution of the chicken, and the range of spice levels make it a standout in the fast-casual space. It's a fiery feast that will leave you...
Read moreAll around prefer not to return. If you’re dying for chicken, I’d recommend spending your money at Chick-Fil-A or Raising Canes if that’s what you’re into.
The chicken was tough and dry. While the, “extra hot,” was definitely edible, the slider bread was nothing special. The slaw/ pickle combo was redeeming, but it shouldn’t be the star of the dish when chicken is in the title of your store. The fries were fine, but again I came here for the chicken, and was let down.
I also ordered the, “reaper,” tender. This prompted the person behind the register to warn me that it was so hot I would have to sign a waiver. Dumbfounded, I agreed. The chicken was just hot. It was still tough and difficult to chew, but the heat was what made it inedible. No flavor, just tough, sandpaper textured mouth pain. So if you want to show off to your buddies get it. You might cry.
I tried the Mac and cheese but again, the reaper had scorched my taste buds into next week and couldn’t even enjoy it.
The environment space was incredibly limited. Of what was available, we sat in steel chairs. The rather small self serve drink station was located directly adjacent to the registers and was significantly inaccessible, due to poorly placed stanchions.
Once you order, you’re given a buzzer and told to wait, seemingly forever, in the sea of confused guests wondering where the line starts and if they’re about to cut just to place their order.
One positive note was the bathroom was one of the cleanest I had seen in a while, especially for a fast-er food...
Read moreI have a couple "gripes" about this place. And 1 star reviews are not my usual thing, so hear me out. The chicken was so so soooo bitter. Almost tasted soapy type of bitter. It was just a chicken tender with pure chili powder on it. No salt, no other seasonings present. This was confirmed by the neon red it dyed my fingers after picking it up for one bite.
I also got the "hot" chicken, so maybe that was my fault. But neither cashier could give me any scale for the many different levels of spice. I asked how hot "hot" was, and was told "Well its not that hot to me." So I asked if it was comparable to a hot sauce, and was told it was MILDER than Tabasco hot sauce. It in fact was not milder. And I love spicy food (love tabasco) but this almost sent me into a panic attack. It was so overwhelmingly spicy, like eyes watering, nose running type of spicy. My throat and nose are still suffering the aftermath a day later. And for reference, I put hot sauce on almost every food I eat. So Im not just someone who cant tolerate spicy foods. For two meals it was $30 (with no drinks). So after spending $30 for basically four chicken tenders neither of us could physically stomach, we will never be back. I know the automated reply to this will say "give us more feedback at our website" but I didnt keep the receipt. So I cant give any feedback except via...
