Famous Dave's Bar-B-Que — Restaurant in Davenport

Absolutely never again. Total and complete waste of money. Only serve Pepsi products. Asked our waitress about the Thursday night's special. Had absolutely NO clue or answers!! Didn't even know what came with the special. Didn't refill our drinks until MINUTES b4 we were finished. Andveven then the strawberry lemonades were slapped together in a lackadaisical, sloppy way. Absolutely none of the 4 we got were the same color or strength. How much time does it take 2 measure something out? ESPECIALLY since we were 1 of 2 tables there!! The walls R beyond disgustingly gross and dirty. The plexiglass between tables and booths were nasty beyond words. They were all caked up and Gummy down by the joint the holds it to the booth's tops. The salt and pepper shakers were greasy, Gummy and sticky. And do not even get me started on the stainless steel shaker tops!! There was stuff growing there NASA would be interested in. We ordered our meals. Literally the only thing that was universally decent were the Cornbread muffins. But they even had problems. The paper wrappers wouldn't come off. And when U finally got them peeled off, 1/3 of the muffin came with it. Then she brought no butter. I asked 4 butter 4 the 3 muffins, 2 servings of mashed potatoes and 4 pieces of corn, and she brought exactly 5 small containers 4 us!! The corn was not even hot...barely warm. It was mealy, tough and Chewy. Not good at all. Our mashed potatoes were not even warm. They were bland and tasteless. The chopped pork sandwiches 4 basically 1/3 pork, 1/3 fat and 1/3 mystery meat/by products. The rib tops were EXTREMELY TOUGH and EXTREMELY SPICY...And we asked for their MILDEST sauce too!!! It was the same for the boneless wings...over sauced and spicy. The chicken I got was all dark. I thought is was pulled, but nope. If I'd have known that, I'd have ordered white meat. But the waitress didn't ask what I preferred or wanted. At least our dogs and cat will eat good tomorrow!! I'll rinse it all off 4 them. On the way out we asked 4 toothpicks. NO toothpicks 2 B had. I’ve lived in Davenport for many years and have heard nothing but good things about famous Dave’s and their food. My dad was visiting and he was excited to try good BBQ, as I had told him that people rave about this place and how good the food is. Walking the host was great; they were even accommodating when at the last minute we decided we wanted a different table. We sat for almost 15 minutes and no one had come out to get our drink orders or anything. I had to stand up and walk up to a group of staff that were just standing around at the front of the restaurant and had to ask who the server was because we had not been helped. When we found out who the server was, we realized they had walked out of the kitchen and looked at us several times. It was about her 5 minutes or so before the server actually even came over and took our orders. The host took our drink orders and brought us our drinks. After ordering; the server came out and told us one of the menu items that we had ordered was unavailable. Another server came out with the food that we were told was unavailable and then the manager came out and said our original server had made a mistake.. By the time we got our food, it was cold and the meat was very fatty. We couldn’t really enjoy it.. 0/10 recommend. Will...

I ordered the three-meat special for work, but didn’t realize my order was wrong until I got to my job site. As soon as I noticed, I called the restaurant. The person I spoke with assured me they’d put my name down for a replacement meal. I even offered to send a picture to verify the mistake, but they told me it wasn’t necessary.

When I returned to the restaurant to pick up the corrected meal, the staff treated me as if I was lying. The manager (or whoever was in charge) was extremely rude and said they “aren’t in the business of giving out free food.” I made it clear I wasn’t asking for anything extra—just the food I paid for. To make matters worse, when I asked for the corporate number, no one could provide it.

This isn’t the first time I’ve had an issue with Famous Dave’s messing up my order, but it will be the last. Moving forward, I’ll make sure to check my food before leaving, but it’s very disappointing to be treated with such poor...
