Maid-Rite — Restaurant in Davenport

Stopped by at 630, saw the sign on the door said they closed at 7. We were like great we order real quick, eat and beat it. Walked in was greeted with a friendly "hey guys" we said "hey" back, then that friendly greeting was followed up by a "are you getting carry out?" We said no, the worker said in a snarky tone "well we close in 15, 20 minutes." Well we know how this us going to go so we say "ok" and turn around to leave, to which the lady hollers after us "the sign is right there on the door" and then something else but we were already out the door to hear what that was. What happened to customer service? My wife and I both worked in the food industry both places we worked served people up until close and we were never rude about it. The last comments "the sign is right there on the door" and whatever else was said was unnecessary. I'm sure that lady in her fifties was proud of herself but we won't be back. We drove away, went somewhere else, and I wrote this review and the place hasn't even closed yet. Whoever owns this joint needs to look into the...

Food itself was very good! However order accuracy is important to me. We were missing five items, three of them being sauces. Not the biggest deal though. Staff was friendly otherwise, we paid to get the sauces anyhow but it felt like false advertising when the menu said a sauce was included with the item. Flavor for the burger patties seemed very bland. I did however love the atmosphere and decoration. The onion rings and cinnamon sugar bites were absolutely delicious though and worth every penny. I was also told the fried shrimp basket also tasted amazing. Friendly staff otherwise, we did end up paying extra to get the sauces... It did seem like false advertising when what we ordered was supposed to come with a sauce. The classic diner feel and decor though was amazing and honestly loved how it made others smile! Will definitely recommend them for their appetizers! Amazing breakfast options and shakes as well I've heard from the locals so if we end up back in the area sometime we might just have to check that out. Definitely recommend...

Food is really good, normally is but the staff is not. Some of the staff that has been there a while seem pretty passive aggressive towards customers and some of the younger staff members. When I walked in a very angry customer left because a staff member would not stop arguing with him long enough to take his order or notice our entrance. I also asked for something different for my meal and my waitress goes “well I already asked and nobody responded but I guess” which I can assure you, she did not ask. This exact instance happened when I asked for sugar with my coffee, the waitress went “well you did not tell me you needed it so...” I am still getting used to table restrictions with covid so I was pretty taken aback that she was so rude about the situation and didn’t think to ask that I needed sugar. I would hope if I asked for something I could receive it without the extra attitude.
