Food is fine; probably the best chips of Tex-Mex quick order shops in the NE Davenport area.
I rarely eat there, as I prefer the other places. My wife loves it. Went in there last evening, and when I pulled up, saw a sign in the window that said something like, "Sundays kids eat free!", and then in finer print something like, "with purchase of $6 adult meal."
Paid and didn't think much about it (which is on me). As we were eating, I noticed the kids meal was on the receipt, and asked for a refund after we were done eating and had ordered. Despite the sign, person that seemed to be the manager would not refund, and said things like, "you could have asked questions (true)" and "the people that come in a lot know this (probably also true)".
Came here to read the reviews. Sometimes people are having a bad day and are a little short, and I wanted to know if it seemed like a one-off. After reading the reviews, it seems this location has systematized bad service.
edit after original post: Original response from company:
"Hey Ryan, Thanks for visiting and sharing your feedback. I forwarded your message to our GM to better understand the problem that you experienced. Please feel free to five (sic) him a call at the restaurant (563-355-0569) so we can make it right with you. Thank you."
Updated review: I think this is a good example of the systematized sub-par surface. Returned call, and manager knew nothing of the situation. This time, however, manager was willing to refund original meal but was very adamant about me understanding the exact details of the sign. I reiterated a couple of times that I now knew the exact policy, as the manager the previous evening had forcefully reminded me. There's no doubt I was irritated at this point as I had, at this point, spent nearly 15-20 minutes between today's ~10 minute call explaining and hearing the same info in addition to the previous 5-10 yesterday. Manager proceeded to tell me he could see what escalated the previous evening (me) vs. being overcharged for what seemed to me to be an ambiguous sign.
In the end, they kept the $5 kids meal and I have a firm understanding of their...
Read moreIf I could rate this place, a -1☆, I would do it! Horrible. Meat was Old, Dry - Not Fresh. Woman that took my order was not very clean. None of the employees were welcoming, to the customers. I got the feeling that they we old be happy, if No one came there - probably, because that would mean they would have to work, for their money. A man in there, when he saw me, with a skirt on, and my long hair put up, out of my face, shouted, "Praise the Lord!" in mocking tones, and laughed. The two other men, that were Employees, working there, were laughing right along with him. I noticed that man did not do that, to two Other women, who came in, who were Not wearing a skirt, and they did Not have long hair. So: I was singled out! I call that behavior unacceptable. That kind of behavior is intolerant, hateful, and humiliating. The fact that those employees were laughing, right along with that man, says to me, that Moe's, and their employees, support this type of highly disrespectful behavior. All I wanted to do, is to quietly eat my lunch. I was not bothering anyone. I do Not choose to go, again, to a place, where I will be harrassed. I will Vote with my feet, and Never go there, again. The sub-standard food that I was served, was Not worth my $8.00, and certainly Not worth the Trouble, that I...
Read moreThis was my first experience in this place. I was not impressed with the lack of customer service or the lack of available toppings due to the staff not having been prepared. Also the disproportionate amounts that are put on your order compared to someone who asks for the same thing and gets nearly double of what you asked for. I understand you can ask for extra but the base amount should be the same for everyone. I did enjoy the selection of toppings and the price. However, I feel that this place is a health hazard. This is due to the fact that the individual who was handling my food and everyone else's food ran my card with his food prep glove still on his hand and then neglected to swap out his gloves before returning to handle more food. I watched as he returned to rolling burritos with the same gloves on and checking out other individuals and proceeding to handle more food after handling unsanitary currency. Also the salsa bar was a mess and in the time of a pandemic I do not believe it is smart to let the general public, a good percentage of whom still refuse to wear protective masks, handle an item that is ment to be consumed. Until more attention to detail is achieved I do not plan on a...
