Iâve been to Filomenaâs 2x now and Iâve run into a major issue each time. The first time I was here, just weeks ago, I ordered a hot coffee and an cold brew. The hot coffee was for my husband, so it just needed to travel the 10 min. trip home. Halfway home, the cup literally disintegrated. I have never seen anything like it - the coffee soaked completely through the cup and the paper on the outside! I had to toss it to prevent it from spilling everywhere, didnât even make 5 minutes in the car! The only salvageable thing was my cold brew, which was just OK.
The second time I was here, today, I again got a hot coffee for my husband, figuring the cup issue was a weird fluke. No! I got halfway home, 5 minutes in, and the cup disintegrated again! This time there was coffee pooling in my cup holder. Absolutely bizarre.
I love supporting small local businesses, but I just canât go back. The coffee is OK, nothing special. The food doesnât even look particularly appetizing - the bakery case is smudged, everything kind of piled up. Worst of all, the hot cups cannot make a 5 minute trip without disintegrating. I wish Iâd had better experiences. I tried twice. Maybe theyâll step up their game at some point, hopefully they invest in...
Read moreThis is a little local coffee shop, Offer a good selection of pastries, salads, and coffee and tea drinks. Think of Starbucks with a little bit more Latin flare. On my visit I got a Chicken Empanada and a Cappuccino. both were very good. The shops atmosphere is very relaxing and friendly. Has a very good coffee small when you fist walk in, everything looks fresh and made to order. It is a very good shop for any coffee lover.
My only Con, is it does have a lot of low carb options. The almond milk there currently use is sweeten, and for there sugar alternative options, they have equal, sweet N low and Splanda, (the normal Pink, Blue, yellow packets) Stave, or monk-fruit (whole earth) would be a good option. I not sure if they offer heavy cream is an milk option for the coffee I will ask next time.
For low carb they do have some fresh looking chicken salads, and a Cheese and tomato olive /w pesto tray that looks very good.
overall this place looks very promising, and I hope they continue to improve there menu options. This is a place I will be returning for...
Read moreGreat first impression so far! Iâve had this place on my âsavedâ list for a while and it was time for me to try it out!
Very clean and spacious inside. Loved the TVs playing popular artists performing. The Moon River breakfast sandwich was really good and I saw a review on here recommending the sâmores cappuccino so I got one in medium and was so happy I didnât regret that decision. This coffee shop/bakery will definitely be seeing me again and plus itâs really close by which is great! â€ïžâïž
Edit: after a year I decided to remove a star. One thing I dislike about many of these coffee shops is theyâre all doing this âone sizeâ situation for their drinks. I got a âLargeâ iced latte today which was indeed NOT large. When the guy showed me the sample sizes, I shouldâve left and not buy it cause in the end I stopped by Starbucks due to unsatisfactory feelings so two drinks in one day đ. Starbucks $7 for a venti is worth the price because itâs indeed a large. Good food & drinks here, but overpriced like everywhere else in...
