A True McDonald's Horror Story After spending a long hot day at work, (no air) I wanted to eat a nice fast meal with my daughter. We decided to dine in at McDonald’s. Walking over to the new machine to place an order, my daughter pointed. (I guess a long day at school deemed her too tired to say, “Mom, let’s order over here.”) With resolve I walked over and we placed and double checked our order. The total was $13.11. I clicked the ‘done’ button and the machine requested I wait for my receipt order to print. This is when the story goes downhill. I went over to a manager and explained that the machine never printed my order. He asked me if I have the app on my phone to show proof I placed the order. I told him no. He told me it’s okay as my order is on the machine behind him. I asked him for my receipt, he checked his register and asked if I ordered the 2 cheeseburgers. I told him no and gave him my order, he told me to have a seat. Fifteen minutes went by and I went to the manager again and he motioned for a young female employee to assist me. Another older male manager walked up, I explained what happened, gave them my order and she added my order to the register. The girl then commented, “This order doesn’t add up to $13.11. I shook my head in disbelief because I know that is what the total had issued on the machine. The older manager went to the machine behind the registers and began looking for my order. When he came up to my order I said “that’s it,” and the girl said I know that’s the same what you ordered but that’s someone else’s order because it has 2 orders of tea.” I didn’t see 2 orders of tea on that order but I let it go, because I wear glasses and maybe just maybe the teas were on that order. (In retrospect I believe that was my order.) The manager, who ignored me, asked me for my receipt. I lost it then I started yelling, “You know I don’t have a receipt I told you that from the beginning.” He asked me why was I yelling? I told him I’m upset of how I’m being treated. He told the girl to give me a partial order. I said I wanted my full order. He then shouted “You’re getting free food!” He shouted this several times. “I shouted back it’s not free I paid $13.11 for my meal. They refused to give me my full meal as a young male employee handed me a bag of food. The manger said once again I was getting free food. I looked in the bag and guess what? I had to ask for my daughter’s medium fries, they refused to give me a cup for her drink. A girl name Hailey was kind enough to give me the fries. Upon the request of my daughter, we left with a partial meal because she said I was embarrassing her. I get home and checked my credit card purchases on my tablet.
VINDICATION! The tablet showed a McDonald’s purchase on 9/22/2017 of $13.11. Needless to say I returned with the proof. The manager who kept yelling that I was getting free food said, “Okay what else did you order.” He never apologized and had an attitude that I had returned. The soda I took home to my daughter tasted horrible. It had absolutely no sprite in it just seltzer. I was done. I wasn’t going back again that day, McDonalds had won. Later that night after 11:00pm I ate the cookies and realized I had 4 instead of the usual three cookies. I know I should have been happy about the extra cookie but I wasn’t. This next statement is going to shock some of you. My son Austin is a manager at that same McDonalds. I spoke with my son this this morning about the issue. He told me that the manager’s name is Efraim and I just should have told Efraim that ‘I’m Austin’s mom’. I totally disagree. I never should have been treated that way in the first place. I was a paying customer and…Should I dare say it? This time the customer really was right. I’m telling my story in the hopes that McDonalds train their employees better. I feel that Efraim, the older manager, and the young female employee saw my order on that screen and knew that I was correct, but they wanted to save...
Read moreI'm convinced this is the worst McDonalds in the country. I used to live across the street and would only go here out of convenience (which was maybe 7 times over the period of two years). I had a negative experience precisely 5 times, which resulted in me calling corporate to issue a complaint for the first time in my life. Three weeks later I received a free chicken sandwich coupon and a handwritten note from the franchise owner. I went to this location one last time to redeem my sandwich, the restaurant was out of tomatoes at 3pm on a Monday and the chicken was cold. I'm surprised McDonalds still allows this place to exist.
P.S. Here's the recount of the instance that led me to call corporate. I went through the drive through and ordered a number five with a medium sweet tea. When I pulled up to the window I was immediately asked if I liked cookies. I asked what that had to do with anything, the employee proceeded to say "oh, I overcharged you and was wondering if I could give you cookies to add up to the value of which I charged you for'' with the most dumbfounded look on my face I said "Cant you just charge me the right amount! I don't want cookies, I want my order and I want to pay what it says it costs." Once I received my order it was incorrect, a number one with a coke. I went inside and demanded my money back, to which they said they don't give refunds. Moral to the story, I...
Read moreI'm not certain how they operate in the day shifts, but I have just experienced some horrendous customer service. If you're going at night, don't even try to dine in. After you place your order in one of the very few kiosks that work, you will only see the employee one time where they drop your food, say your name and run back to the back. I would understand if this place was under employed but that couldn't have been the case here. Not one, but two employees passed by me as I was waiting in front of the counter. All I wanted was some Buffalo sauce. I felt really bad for the additional 10 people that started to wait after me as they were experiencing the same thing. How do you not see a group of people waiting for online orders or just trying to actually order something!? If you got over an hour of time to spend, shoot your shot but make sure you put everything in the order because you won't get the chance to speak to an...
