I rarely write reviews, but I'm genuinely surprised and bewildered by the high ratings of this restaurant. I was searching for a good Colombian breakfast nearby for my son and me, and Google led me here. Although I usually frequent "El Patio," I decided to try something new. Arriving around 8:30 am, shortly after it opened, we were disappointed to find the food old and cold. The empanadas lacked flavor and were very dry, making them difficult to chew. The chicharrone was cold, obviously reheated, and lacked freshness. To add to the disappointment, the lime provided was bad, leaving an old sour taste on already unsatisfactory food. The arepa was hands down the worst I've ever had, and the tequenos were merely average. The only redeeming aspect was the cafe con leche.

Regrettably, my encounter did not align with the expected standard in terms of freshness or flavor, resulting in a less than favorable review. I have included photos to illustrate my experience. While I would have preferred to address this in person had I dined in, I opted for takeout and only discovered the meal's quality once at home. My intention in sharing this feedback is not to discredit your restaurant, but rather to honestly convey my disappointment as a paying customer. Despite this initial experience, I am open to revisiting in hopes of a better...
Read moreAuthentic Colombian food with millennial vibes. I am Colombian, and every so often I feel the need to reconnect and eat Colombian food. This restaurant has been my go to place since I moved to Davie. My last Mel there was a lunch special that included a potato and pasta soup, beef stew, rice, and salad. I had a natural "lulo" juice... Yes every Colombian restaurant should have natural fruit juice. The soup and the min dish were very tasty, the portion was perfect to not feel overly full afterwards, and nothing was too salty. Very simple and tasty food. One of this restaurant's difference to other latin authentic spots is the salad. Usually, the salad at latin restaurants, including Colombian restaurants, is a little bunch of iceberg lettuce with a tomato slice and a little onion slice that always goes back to the kitchen... I can actually eat the salad here! The dressing is good, and sometimes they even add beets to it. The service is very friendly and efficient. At the beginning when I first ate there I was confused because I wasn't getting my check, it turns out that you have to pay at the counter which I don't mind, the place is pretty cozy. Anyway, I...
