Ok first of all, real chinese people eat here, which kind of bought me off the place is authentic chinese food, and not the western style chinese food they market to americans. The reviews seem to be good also, which kind of tricked me.Now personally I have been to china 3 time's so I know what real and also good chinese food taste like. Now I should have known something was wrong, when I saw a ghetto miami person with positive reviews for this place. I do not eat around nor eat at places which fit ghetto miami people's taste buds. When I got to the place there was one couple of ghetto people in there, that should have been my sign to leave. Anyway I gave it a chance ordered to go, since I saw chinese people in there eating, but seeing chinese people there eating does not mean the food is good, it just means they make chinese style food. I ordered szechuan shrimp, fried rice, and 2 spring rolls. The szechuan shrimp had 4 shrimp in the whole dish, it did not possess any kind of spicy flavour not even remotely, which it is suppose to have.It had a overdose of sliced vegetables which futher reduced its flavour, in reality it barely had any taste. The spring rolls were , average at best, and I did not try the vegetable fired rice, i threw it in the garbage. Reason why, the szechuan shrimp had seriously upset my stomach, I had to take some prevacid and drink milk, to calm my stomach down. Last but not least, the older guy at the front who took my order, is on some kind of scam, talks with a low soft voice. He made sure he showed me I gave him 20$. he shorted me over 50 cents on myorder, he also did not give me a receipt . When I confronted him, he did not give me the full change, I actually had to count it and come back again for him to give me the correct change. Then he looked at me with an odd smirk on his face.So they sell you ghetto tasting food which attracts ghetto people, they do not give you receipts so they can avoid paying taxes, while collecting taxes from you. Then above all they want to short change you, knowing alot of people here to not count thier change. Lesson: just because chinese people eat there, does not mean the food is good, it just means they serve real chinese food good or bad, chinese people do not eat westernized chinese food. 2nd lesson, if ghetto people are in the...
Read moreWent here twice in the past week. Since the first visit all I've heard from my 87 year old Auntie is, "Chinese food place" in very broken English. We all really enjoyed it the first time, arrived later and were unable to take advantage of the crab deal because it had already sold out for the night. So we elected to try the lobster, orange chicken, and some lo mein. It was a great meal and experience so we went again tonight.
The place is centered on fresh seafood. There are live lobster, crab and fish in tanks visible from just a few steps from the front door. You are initially greeted by an ornamental salt tank and the edible tank on the back wall. As far as Chinese food goes, this place is as good or better than what I have grown to love in Chinatown Los Angeles. Like, Jackie Chan's restaurant and the #1 rated restaurant of Chinatown "Yang Chow".
Our second trip had one slight issue but I'm still rating this 5 stars because of the way it was handled and because the issue was not a mistake it was more of a miscommunication. Their are multiple menus and it can be a little confusing. When we ordered the lo mein tonight it came out as more of a chow mein. I suppose it could have been us but we ordered it the exact same way we did before so I'm not sure where the breakdown was but either way we mentioned it and they tried to fix it. It still did not come back the way we wanted it so they agreed to remove the item from the bill. My only feedback would be to streamline the menu or it may have been a genuine mistake. The point is they took care of it without hesitation and I suppose I could give them 4 stars for it but nobody is perfect. I would hate to miss out on great food myself if I were searching for good local Chinese food so I am holding strong with 5 stars because I sincerely believe they make really good food.
If you're looking for a deal go with the crab but if you want some really delicious seafood I'd highly recommend getting the lobster over the crab any time. It's so good and judging by the lobster tank in the lobby, your meal will be alive up until a few moments after you place your order. That goes for the crab too. But I think it's at least worth mentioning if you go for the higher expense of the lobster, you will not be...
Read moreI would give zero stars if it allowed me. I have ordered takeout multiple times from this restaurant. The food was always good. I order sweet and sour chicken. The sauce has never been on the sweet and sour chicken. Never once did I have to explain no sauce. I came for the first time to order food as dine in. They sweet and sour order came with sauce on it. I explained how it never comes with the sauce on it. Joseph was our waiter began yelling at me saying it is my fault that I didnt specify to have the sauce on the side. He then continues to yell at me saying I blamed him for the order mistake. I explained how when I order take out which is labeled the same sweet and sour chicken it never comes with the sauce. He then continues to yell at me in front of my family saying that take out is different then fine in. The food is prepared differently. So I told him they should specify in their menu even though it is named the same that the sauce comes on it fine in and not take out. And then he started screaming louder at me. Well if I explain all the sauces to everyone it would take me all night! Mind you the restaurant is empty besides the workers at another table preparing food. So evidently business is not going well for the restaurant. He can't even explain something to a customer. I have never had such a bad experience with customer service. He was in a bad mood from the beginning. I asked to speak to a manager as soon as he started yelling at me and instead he just kept yelling louder and louder at me. Never once even got a manager. The food that did come out for my family was not cooked thoroughly. Also the other staff members that were preparing food bare hands on a table people eat on with other employees sitting down and chatting amongst themselves. Not hygienic. Also no one thought they should come see why I am being verbally abused by their associate? It is unacceptable for an establishment to be run this way allowing employees to be out of control. If you want a calm dining experience where the takeout is the same as dine in do not go to this place unless you want to be verbally abused by disrespecting,...
