Even though we heard something bad regarding the owners from reviews in different forums, we came here bc my friend desperately wanted to have some Chinese skewers. We regretted a lot after sit down for 5 minutes.
Warning 1: DO NOT COME HERE if you are sensitive to NOISE. They put a Karaoke in the dining area where every single customer were FORCED to be an audience of random “singers”. You’d better pray to have someone good at singing. No kidding, it was so loud that it brought her headache and we had to switch to take out.
Warning 2: DO NOT COME HERE if you are a YOUNG WOMAN. Or be prepared to get no respect, let alone service. We got no greeting, no water after seating there for 30 minutes. We had to share 1 menu given that we were the only customers who need menu sback then. She showed no patience for us to decide the spicy level of skewers even though it only took 10 seconds. After placed the order, we wanted to keep it just in case we want to order more foods and she seemed like pissed off, throw it back to the table and walked away immediately. How “courteous” and “welcoming”! If she treated everyone with the same way, I’d thought it was just another no-service Chinese restaurant that I’ve been ran into and quite chilled with. However, I heard she complimented the gentleman with honeyed voice. Later, another group of customers came in. She did the same when answered one of the young man’s question with a big smile. Oh well, we thought she had less nerves to have any facial expression, which proved wrong sooner. Of course it is her own decision whether to smile or be kind to someone or not. But based on our own experience, I sincerely suggest anyone who wants to come here be sure to bring a cock with you to get basic service.
To be fair, their skewers are fine, at least we did not showed food poisoning symptoms afterwards. Cucumber salad is too soft, which might indicate it’s not fresh enough and dehydrated. Eggplant is bitter. Squid is overcooked. Sausage, mutton and chicken gizzard were at average, enoki and mussel were great and the only two that I...
Read moreWent in with my family a week ago, decided to try their Hot Pot. I was very disappointed. All the veggies gotten dried out from the fridge environment, looked like it had been sitting in the fridge for a long time. I suggest to put a food grade cover film over each plate of the ingredients, so it stay looking and tasting fresh.
The hot pot dipping sauce was not the greatest either, the sesame paste was so liquidity that it was impossible to dip. I have been to other hot pot places, they have many varieties of sauce choices to mix.
The Hot Pot soup base: We had a partition in the big Pot so we can get a veggie soup base and a meat soup base.(They do not have individual pot for each customer, it is a huge pot for all, if you plan to have two soup base like we did then they have a partition in the pot so the two soup base does not mix). Now comes to the soup base itself, the veggie soup base is made of tomatoes. It was soooo sour at one point I had a nausea feeling in my stomach (this is the reason I had to stop eating and decided to leave). The other meat base soup was made from pork bone soup(this will go perfect with noodles, not for hot pot). The pork bone broth had a huge pork bone in it which is really nice but it is not for hot pot purposes....
The day we went, in the dessert section, they only had the baked egg custard cups and another snack brought from the Asian Supermarket. There was many ice pops in the freezer and not actual ice cream that customers can scoop out and enjoy.
I can only give 3 stars. In all, the place was clean, the owner was friendly. However, the ingredients need to be put somewhere it will not air dry like that, it does not taste fresh. Another suggestion: music was loud and noisy, looked like a karaoke more than a restaurant. I felt like I wasted my $100+ on the dinner we had. For Hot Pot customers, I suggest you to look elsewhere. BBQ seems to be well organized and served.
Their BBQ seems to be...
Read moreOverall, not worth it at all. As soon as we walked in, the server looked at us and didn’t even greet us. It was our first time here and will definitely be the last time. First time doing hot pot didn’t even attempt to offer us advice on what to do. He just asked us what broth we wanted and left, didn’t ask us if we wanted drinks or anything like that. He checked up on other tables but not ours. Definitely felt discriminated against and ruined the whole experience. He seemed to be bothered by us. Where they get you here is that they include an 18% gratuity into each check, so how they treat you really doesn’t matter because at the end of the day they will get their tip nonetheless. The food was also very disappointing. They had a very small selection of vegetables to pick from and half of the meat section was empty. They did not even have the traditional thin beef slices which is what most people go to a hot pot place for. Instead, the only meat they had was some very questionable chicken which no matter how long I cooked it for, it still came out slimy. Nothing about this place stood out and the experience and customer service here is horrible. Save yourself the time and money and enjoy a hot pot anywhere else. The food here raises some serious food safety concerns and does not even taste good. You’d be lucky to find their...
