I got the stew beef enchiladas con queso Blanco meal. They brought out something with a brown sauce on it. I said I ordered it with the white cheese sauce. They corrected the order. The beans looked dark as night and I couldn't stomach more than a small bits. The rice tasted wet and like Uncle Ben's microwaved Spanish rice but somehow worse. The "stew beef" on God tasted like Dinty Moore canned beef stew, with the gravy, with zero Mexican seasonings, wrapped in a dry tortilla and covered in a white sauce that had literally no flavor I could not taste a thing and drowned in cheap cheese. This canned dog food cost $28. They charge for refills on pop, and chips and salsa aren't complimentary even though they ask you if you want any and don't disclose they're not free. The chips aren't tortilla chips. They're more like thick pita chips that aren't fresh. Also, you have to walk the bill up to them, as if it's so difficult for the waitress to grab the bill. I wanted to leave so bad because the smell of their meat was absolutely disgusting, I wouldn't feed it to my dog, it should be illegal to run a restaurant with food this terrible and expensive. I felt physically ill upon having a few bites. I didn't say anything because my spouses grandfather took us there and I have manners. Do not give this place your money. It should be shut down. Using canned meat. And nothing authentic Mexican about it. Go to El Potrero in Mt Morris. Half the price, great every time. Real food that hasn't sat for a week. I am so disgusted I can't even describe the horror. Oh! And there were two waitresses who waited on us who were Hispanic which they seemed to blame on the confusion and literally said to us "we're two different people in case you didn't notice" when they messed up twice. We're like, um yeah we know? Like that wasn't a thing at all but way to impose that? Weird. The whole situation was awkward and odd. I wouldn't eat their food if they paid me $200. Taco Bell...
Read moreI typically don’t leave reviews, but my boyfriend and I went here last night for the first time and we were very unimpressed. First they ask if you’d like chips and salsa but don’t tell you they aren’t complimentary. That’s the first Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to with non complimentary chips and salsa.. not the worst thing though. The food is honestly way overpriced for the quality. We got 4 golden tacos and the chicken tasted like it was from a can.. the beef tasted like the taco meat you got in school… (not good) but the worst part was our waitress… I’ve never been to a restaurant where your waitress makes it’s very obvious that she doesn’t want to be there… our waitress sat us down, took our drink order, brought them to us then took our food orders.. she didn’t return until she brought us our food, and after she brought the food she never came back. We had to ask a different waitress for our bill… our waitress was still there btw she was doing her bad service on other tables as well and then just disappearing to the back all over again. She was an older woman, very rude and very just not who anyone would want working for them… but anyway, safe to say that was our very first and very last time ever eating there. Very old and dingy on the inside as well.
There’s plenty of good Mexican food options around Davison, I’d save your money and go to those and...
Read moreI go here frequently and usually I don’t have any issues. I went on Cinco De Mayo, beautiful mural of Selena on the wall. The website said they opened at 11 am, I got there at 11:20 and the door was locked. I called and they said they opened at 11:30. I was the second person seated. It appeared at this time they had one waitress. She was very pleasant and came to get my order in a timely fashion. There was a dj, music was a little loud for such a small space. I had been looking forward to a seafood enchilada and corn taquitos. Food took an unusually long time to come out. Only 3 tables of people at that time. The person who brought the food out asked a table which of them had ordered a seafood enchilada, she apologized as she said recently the table numbers had changed. She set it down and I must have had an expression on my face as she asked me if it was ok. I said it’s ok but it’s significantly smaller than usual, there was not much seafood in it. Generally there is seafood with each bite. The taquitoes were not crispy like they usually are. So it was a little disappointing. The food did come out hot and the chips and salsa were great as usual. I’m not sure what happened today. It was almost 1 pm by the time I received the bill. Very...
