I never write reviews but the Breakfast Club is the last place I will ever eat at again My mother had came into town and I wanted to take her to Breakfast club because we usually eat there when she comes. The table that we were sat at was wet from pop that was not cleaned when we were seated no big deal. I asked the waitress for some napkins which she brought. But with those napkins she brought a little friend with her. My mom and are drinking coffee and out from the stack of napkins a BED BUG!! crawls out. I smash it and call the waitress who grabs the napkin and balls it up and shoves it in her pocket.( YUCK)She then proceeds to bring us another set of napkins and says these should be ok and walks off No apology nothing. Who does that!! She never told the manager so I stopped him and let him know it was a Bed Bug in the napkins that were sat at our table, and he says "OH A BED BUG",with no shock what so ever. The waitress proceeds to tell him yeah it was a bed bug in the napkins and he says Oh Ok and walks off. AGAIN NO APOLOGY!!I was pissed to say the least but I didn't want to flip out and ruin what was already a horrible and embarrassaring situation since I had picked to eat here. Needless to say the food was just as nasty as the service. The waitress never came back to check on us. We only had the coffe she brought when we sat down, The potatoes were so greasy I couldn't eat them. We were so nervous about another Bed Bug appearing and risk taking it home we couldn't focus on our food to the point my mother said I can't take it we are leaving. The manager came and cleared the plates so I am thinking Ok he is going to apologize now. Well he didn't there was never an apology given. Then while sitting in my car I see the cook come out and she is smoking and hocking spit in front of the building, smh. I wish I never took my mom there but I will never go there again and I am going to tell everyone I know DO NOT EAT AT THE BREAKFAST...
Read moreThis is one of those establishments where you'll see the manager clearing plates & tables and walking around filling customers' coffee mugs, not barking orders and standing around . My girlfriend and I came here on a crowded Sunday morning and were seated promptly. This was our first time coming, so I took my time to survey the menu. Our waitress was very attentive and patient; she had to return to our table 3 times before I knew what I had an appetite for. I ordered the Chicken and Waffles with a side of Biscuits and Gravy; my girlfriend ordered The Jackpot Special (I think). While waiting for our food, I noticed the place has a nice sense of hustle and bustle, which I expected for a place this cozy, at capacity, during Sunday brunch. I didn't mind the "liveliness" at all.
First, our biscuits and gravy came out piping hot, which we destroyed since it was the first thing we ate that day. Our main plates came out soon after (10min later). Everything was cooked to perfection. As you can see, she likes her eggs over easy. I don't, so I didn't try them. They put red onions in their potatoes, which I thought was a nice touch. My waffle was light and crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. My chicken was very good, however, I suspect they fry their chicken and fish in the same oil (??). I thought the crust tasted a bit fishy, so, if you have a fish allergy, I would ask.
Altogether, we both enjoyed our food and first experience here. The bill came to just under $25 and we were in and out in less than an hour. I'll be...
Read moreAs a child, I came here often with my family. I'm 35 and the place really took a turn for the worst within the past 4-5yrs. I LOVED it as a child but hated eating here as an adult. The place was extremely dingy, dusty, and dirty. I had to stop looking up because we were seated under an awning type curtain caked in old dust and dirt...I could just imagine it constantly falling into my food.
Our service a few months ago was horrible. We had a big group of 6 married couples that would've tipped VERY well if only our service was worth it. We rarely were checked upon and our server's attitude left MUCH to be desired. My husband and I felt terrible that we suggested this place to our friends for breakfast.
Now...I just went yesterday and saw that they've done a little remodeling. They've removed those awful curtains which make the tiny place much brighter and welcoming and painted the walls. BUT...the food.
I ordered fried hashbrown potatoes with onion, extra crispy, and 3 fried chicken wings. I'm not sure who they hired as a cook but they NEED their old cook back!!!!! The potatoes were flavorless and my darn chicken wings were undercooked! I LOVED their chicken and waffles before. Unfortunately, my last few experiences have caused me to say "Good Bye for now" to the Brunch Club.
I'd love to be able to return to a childhood favorite BUT not with it's current COOK...
