I don't know if this will reach anybody of importance but this past week at Miami valley hospital was one of the worst experiences I ever had at a hospital. Let me start off by just saying we started off on the 6th floor where the nurses were just down right lazy, rude, unprofessional and unorganized and need a lot of bed side manner training. It's been just over a week now and we still haven't had people call us back to help us with certain questions.... Let's fast forward to where now we was moved to the 4th floor icu. Talk about night and day. This floor was just unbelievable. The teamwork, The professionalism . the hard work was outstanding. This floor get a 5 plus in my book. Now I want to highlight Two people Tonya Ross on the 6th floor you cleans room was tremendous she help us in so many ways. Directed us in the right direction when we had questions. She went above and beyond her job too the point she even call me at home when we left the hospital after my farther passed to give her condolences. But unfortunately there only so much she can do. The hospital let her down by the way we were treated. Now the next person. Unfortunately I don't know his last name. There was a nurse named SETH on the 4th floor, what can I say about this young man was nothing but the highest praise. Talk about professionalism, kindness, hard working, compassion. My dad was in bad shape when he got to the 4th floor and this young man never left his bed side. He worked his butt off all nite until the end. I would invite this man to the funeral to show my gratitude for amazing performance. This young man alone would turn my rating into a 5 star but unfortunately the 6th floor over shadows that...... SETH FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART. THANK YOU AND MUCH LOVE FOR EVERYTHING. THIS NEEDS TO BE...
Read moreWORST HOSPITAL I'VE EVER PERSONALLY SEEN. AN HOUR AND A HALF AGO AT 8AM MY DAD WAS ALLOWED TO EAT FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FOUR DAYS AND IT IS 935 AND THEY STILL HAVENT GOTTEN HIM FOOD!
Last night after having SURGERY and not EATING for THREE DAYS, it took them THIRTY minutes to even RESPOND to his bed call, and TWO HOURS to get him ONE COFFEE!!! They only got it for him because I WAS THERE TO WITNESS EVERYTHING AND MAKE THEM! The "nurses" in the after-operations bed areas were YELLING up and down the hallways to each other about weekend plans - while human beings are trying to recouperate from being sliced and diced open. While waiting TWO HOURS for COFFEE, we witnessed a group of "nurses" chit-chatting around the front desk! My dad quit breathing over and over and over and over and I HAD TO WAKE HIM UP TO BREATHE FOR THREE HOURS!!!!
I have to specifically commend Aisha on her Genuine care for her patients. She was the ONLY one who did what she said she would do - AND did it in a very timely manner. THANK YOU, AISHA. May you be happy and taken care of always.
DO NOT EVER COME TO THIS WRETCHED, FORSAKEN PLACE IF YOU VALUE YOUR OR YOUR LOVED ONE'S LIFE. THIS PLACE ACTUALLY BELIEVES IT IS BETTER TO TAKE CARE OF A WATERFALL ON THEIR PATHETIC PREMISES THAN TO ACTUALLY TAKE CAREEEEE OF...
Read moreInitial experience was quick and courteous. It went downhill from there. The nurse I had, up to the point I got "admitted" was good, but the overnight nurse was unfriendly, and seemed as if she'd rather be anywhere else. The response was so slow, that, as difficult as it was at times, I pretty much had to do for myself. (This was so difficult at times, considering the railing that, from my side of the bed was a challenge to get down...)
Although admitted at about 8:30 p.m., it would be 8 something A.M. before I would be moved to a room. While I mostly get the heavy load of occupancy, the experience as a patient, overnight in the ER was rough. They called it "boarding," yet I'd say this is a process that needs some great improvement...
