A&W Restaurant — Restaurant in Dearborn

Today, I visited your restaurant in Dearborn Michigan. While ordering through the drive thru speaker, I was greeted by an incredibly rude woman who cut me off twice in the middle of my order when I wasn't finished ordering. It was clear she didn't want to be bothered and wasn't paying attention. After repeating everything on my order several times each, she then repeated it back to me so fast I could barely understand what she said, but I was pretty sure she got it right. When we got to the window, she apparently had forgotten our root beer float. When I politely said "excuse me, I think we're just missing the root beer float" she responded with the nastiest attitude and said "well why didn't you ask for it when I repeated your order back to you instead of getting an attitude about it?" Let me assure you, there was ZERO attitude coming from anyone in my vehicle. The attitude was coming from her. I was appalled that she would say something like that. After finally getting my root beer float after being charged separately for it, I said to the woman "I will be contacting your manager, there was no need to be rude with your attitude comment" her response was then "I don't have one and I don't care". Let me assure you, I will never dine at your restaurant again. I have never been treated with such disrespect in my life for doing absolutely nothing wrong and it makes me sick that you would employ people who...

Usually I love this place but now it has really gone downhill. The service has been so slow and unfriendly and today topped it. I stop to grab a shake to take to my elderly dad in senior living. He loves them. However, this time was awful. My order was 3.28, I gave a twenty, 2 dimes a nickle and 3 pennies. It took her minutes to figure it out...give me $17 back. She attempted to give me 16.99 and claimed I gave her 27 cents. She did not say anything, but took forever to count change, which I attempted to avoid in the first place. I know I didn't give 27 cents, there were 5 cars in front if me so I had time to recount it. I wasn't going to argue so I gave her a nickle and told her she owed me 17.04, she still gave 16 dollars, and then handed me 4 pennies I didn't realize until I drove away. Seriously, do you not know how to count change? Her drawer will be over 1.01 and I know that's nothing but its the point. Then I asked for her to not fill too full so it didn't melt. It was an inch and a half from the top. I will need to find a different place to stop for the 97-year -old. So...

Locally known Top Secret fact: This A&W is situated atop a small little hill, nestled in between a tree-lined street, conveniently across from a major bus hub at a mall with a movie theater and food court. AND this A&W has some really nicely placed picnic tables with a view... or even just parking spaces with a view if you wanted to pull over to the side and enjoy your (not recommended to eat very often due to its lack of nutrition for anything but the soul and the fat cells) drive-thru comfort food.🙂 Sometimes a root beer float, some onion rings, a generously-provided selection of various sauces, plus whatever-the-heck kinda meaty thing you wanna add to that to resemble a meal, is JUST what the doctor ordered. (I mean this figuratively of course. I have never actually heard a doctor recommend that someone eat at A&W more.)

It's been awhile since I've been on the inside here -- it still isn't open for dine in as far as I can tell -- but the inside is nice too. And you can even get refills on root beer! I mean, you COULD... we can hope this happens...
