Really disappointed. I understand that everybody is short staffed... I get it, and I'm not judging based on that. The food was very good, as usual. The service really lacked. Came in ahead of the dinner rush...there was a server in training, another server, and the manager. People at only two other tables. We were pretty much ignored, while the fully trained server fawned over the other two tables (we were "only" a party of two). She took our order, delivered beverages to the table, and after that, she was pretty much gone until it was time to deliver the check. The manager was tending to a group that came in after us, and brought my meal out with theirs. Five minutes later, my mother STILL hadn't received hers (a sandwich... I already had my calzone). I had to go to the counter to finally ask where it was, and I got "oh...". A few minutes later, the sandwich appeared. Nobody stopped by the table to see how things were or offered to refill drinks. Waited and waited for her to pick up my payment for the check, finally had to go to the counter (if I hadn't, we probably would have been there all night) to pay the bill. It seemed like larger tables got unlimited focus, in anticipation of a large tip. In the Manager's defense, she said she saw me looking at and try to get my server's attention numerous times and could sense that after being blown off by her from the time the order was taken until the end that I looked frustrated. We were offered free desserts to make up for the total lack of service, but we declined, as we had other plans for dessert. Not planning on going back for a good while.
Note to service personnel:. We know it's been a rough two years. We get it, and I sympathize. You're tired, and feel unappreciated, and are often doing the work of 2 or 3 people. People who are eating out in your establishment are spending their hard-earned cash to eat out... in YOUR restaurant. They need to be appreciated too... and deserve the same great service that a larger party receives if they are only a...
Read moreI had to change my rating from five stars to two. I think the server mentioned below is gone. The servers we have had since then, although they had all worked there for a long time were horrible. One even remarked, I am probably the worst sever you've ever had... really!!! I had sent a friend there, she asked for Brittany to be her server. They said she wasn't there. She told me she wouldn't be going back. I asked why not. She said let's just say that our server was no Britney. Although, I had left it out of my original review, in my opinion the owner speaks harshly, disrespectfully, and in an unprofessional manner to his wife. In addition, I got the idea that if a server wasn't young, and really thin, that they might also get treated in a manner that was nowhere near professional. I think most diners care more about service than about whether their server is young and cutesy. Maybe ask for Brittany anyway, so they figure out what type of servers they should hire, and then do what it takes to keep them. That is the end of my edit, after this is my original review. The food is good, the owner seems attentive to customer's needs, but without the server named Brittany the experience would not be the same. Although the other's service is most likely adequate, observing what is going on makes one sure it is nothing in comparison to this pretty little gal's delightful personality and always smiling face. She will make sure your meal is perfect, and that you're satisfied to the point of wanting to return over, and over. The food really is good. But to have the best night out, ask where you should sit so that Brittany (pretty sure that is her name) can be...
Read moreI am 42 years old and never do reviews. I figured, if you didn't like somewhere then just don't go back. Which we won't be going back to Nonna Maria's. We'll go down the street to Anthony's from now on. Tonight my husband and I went here for dinner after a LONG day at work and then some errands. He hadn't eaten all day so he was starving. Rather then grab something quick from the Chinese place next door, we decided on Nonnas for a sit down experience. The server was nice. She brought us garlic knots that were hard and burnt on top. (We didn't complain) When our entrees came out, my husband took one bite and said, "This awful. Not at all what I expected." I told him to let the server know, surely you can exchange it for something else. Meanwhile, he nibbled on the burnt garlic knots and his salad. When our server came back, he told her that could not eat what was served to him. She said, "Just because you didn't like it, doesn't mean you don't have to pay for it." Then she brought him a slice of cheese pizza as compensation. (Like he was a 5 year old) She brought us the check and yes, his meal which was over $20, with only 1 bite taken out of it, was on the bill. Then she boxed MY food and took his away. AFTER CHARGING US FOR IT?!?! At least let us take it home to give to someone else!!! WE PAID FOR IT!!!!!! NOPE! We just spent over $20 on literally NOTHING and my poor husband are my left overs when we got home. What a waist of money and poor customer service. Instead of having a a repeat customer, you have a 1 star review. So, if you want decent food and decent service , where your hard earned money is well spent, drive the extra mile...
