Athens Pizza is an absolute gem!
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. Our waitress was simply amazing—a wise woman full of wisdom and kindness. She didn’t just serve us; she shared recommendations with such grace and warmth that it made our meal even more special.
The Greek salad was perfection—fresh, crisp, and bursting with Mediterranean flavors. It felt like the essence of the Mediterranean diet on a plate, with juicy tomatoes, crunchy cucumbers, perfectly briny olives, and a generous topping of feta cheese. Every bite was refreshing and balanced, exactly how a Greek salad should be!
The lasagna? Incredible! A true classic, baked to perfection with layers of rich, hearty sauce, perfectly cooked pasta, and gooey, flavorful cheese. It tasted like something straight out of an old-world Italian kitchen—comforting, nostalgic, and absolutely satisfying.
The atmosphere of Athens Pizza is something special. The furniture and decor whisper stories of history and time, creating an ambiance that feels both cozy and timeless. You don’t just eat here—you experience a piece of history and tradition.
Highly recommend this place for anyone craving authentic flavors, heartwarming service, and a dining experience that stays with you. Can’t wait to come back!

Read moreI've lived in metro Atlanta over 45 years, and Athens Pizza has been my go-to spot for Greek food and Greek-style pizza. My wife is especially crazy about their Greek salads, and I'm really fond of their gyro plate, with Greek salad and home fries. They bake their own baklava (at least I think they still do -- I'm positive they certainly did when I first started eating their in 1968, because I watched it being prepared from scratch). This is something I really LOVE, and theirs is the best I've ever had!
All the dishes that I've tried have been very good to superior, and the prices are quite reasonable for the quality of the food. Service is most often very friendly, but often slows considerably during their busiest hours.
The one negative I've noted: this is generally not a good spot for a quiet, intimate dinner for two. The noise level can interfere with conversation, causing people to raise their voices so they can be heard above the background noise. This, of course, just adds to the noise, and when the place is packed, the process feeds on itself. My wife and I prefer take-out service during their busiest hours, and the food makes take-out service more...
Read moreThe inside sit down service is great, but when you order for pick up via telephone, the order taker is over kill manipulative knowing full well that you are unaware of what you are really being charged for until you are picking up. Example: I'd like to order a "pizza pocket" for pick up." - but you are shocked during pick up to find you were charged for the largest one possible without being asked or verified. They deliberately allow drastic misunderstandings when you call in an order to pick up - they know they have the upper hand of what and how they sell to unsuspecting and new customers. They know that they "got" you once you end the call. If you happen to ask for a total price before hanging up, that's when you realize that something went terribly wrong somewhere causing the embarrassment of "what did I order for it to be so high- $ 70 to feed me and one other person for lunch?" This happened to me 3 times in a row. I stopped dealing with this business after that. Now I think I understand why we never see any black people purchasing anything there. It's awkward. Maybe we are not...
