Hi Vera, I visited your coffee shop August 7 between 315 and 3:24 PM today the young black woman that was at the register was very rude and her attitude was very unnecessary. came in to order your nutty Irishman and equested that extra shot of Irish cream and azelnut be put into the coffee. She proceeded o roll her eyes and look at your other coworker that was on duty with her and look back at me and laugh and say that's really sweet and I said I've already had the original. It's not sweet to me. She rolled her eyes again and proceeded to laugh. She asked me the type of milk I wanted. I let her know the kind that I would like upon doing that I asked her was there a problem and was there a reason she was talking as such in her demeanor was as nasty as it was toward me she rolled her eyes again put her head down continue to smirk. Tell me the price, ignoring my question and acted as if she didn't wanna take the money out of my hand, she pinched it as if it was dirty money, or if something was wrong with touching the money when she handed me back the money she did the same thing and walked off with a nasty attitude going back on her phone at the back of the counter I've only been in your establishment twice. Today was my second time. The first was very pleasant is very clean. Everyone was very nice. I just wanna make you aware of the situation as someone that heavily visit restaurants, coffee, places, and just and every day customer I would ot want someone like that at my front Front of ouse greeting or talking to people. Even if she ad a bad day or a bad moment, there was no reason for that unprofessional manner to take place from her to me. l asked the other woman that was on duty with her for her name. She wouldn't give it to me so that you would know exactly who I'm referring to. She did say that you would know based off the date and the time that I give you so hopefully you know who I'm referring to again this is the black young lady with a silver nose, ring caramel complexion, blonde, brownish, braids, black finger nail polish
I also did not receive the extra pump of hazelnut and Irish cream the two syrups I believe that go in the Irishman as I requested
I look forward to hearing your response. I emailed you this same...
Read moreDecided to give them another try after a bad experience years ago. It's an OK place to meet someone or to work, but don't come here for espresso.
Their "small" cappuccino is 10+ ounces; 4-6 would be standard, so it's very diluted. The milk was a frothy mess with large bubbles, no microfoam, and no attempt at latte art. It's reminiscent of what you'd find before third wave coffee when the only competition was starbucks. (FWIW, there shouldn't be multiple sizes for a cappuccino; adding more milk essentially makes it a latte.)
If it was cheaper I'd give 3 or 4 stars, but their pricing is in line with specialty coffee shops and the quality is not. Their POS prompts for a minimum 15% tip, which seems typical nowadays.
I wish there were better options in the area... Kaldi's at Emory and Dancing Goats in downtown Decatur are the closest places to get real espresso, and both offer a much better cup and (IMO) nicer atmosphere.
Otherwise, compared to 4 years ago, the decor has changed a bit, baristas are friendly, atmosphere is fine. There is ample seating, but some of the couches have totally worn down fabric on the arms (exposed, yellowing foam) and need to be reupholstered or replaced. The wifi worked as expected.
If management reads this review: there are a plethora of options for training baristas to make good espresso, from free YouTube tutorials to paid consulting programs. Try your cappuccino and compare it to one from dancing goats; you will see why I am complaining. A good starting point would be using bottomless portafilters, an electric tamper, and scales for weight-based dosing if you're not already doing so. Minimal equipment upgrades and a weekend of training would make a...

I’ve been coming here almost daily to study, and I’ve always made it a point to support the business by purchasing drinks or snacks during my visits. It’s a place I genuinely enjoyed, until a recent experience left me feeling completely disrespected and disheartened.
On this particular day, I chose not to buy anything, something I rarely do. A staff member named Ella, who has taken my order a few times before, approached me and claimed that I come in and “never give [them] any business”, afterwards giving me a note basically saying I needed to make a purchase or leave. I was shocked. Not only was the note rude, but the accusation that I “never” buy anything was simply false. I’ve spent plenty of time and money here over the past weeks, always in good faith.
I understand that businesses rely on customer purchases, but there’s a way to handle things respectfully—especially with regular customers who have consistently supported the café. It was upsetting to be treated as if I were freeloading, when I’ve done the exact opposite.
I hope the management takes this as an opportunity to train their staff on how to better approach situations like these. A little awareness and customer care can...
