Not your typical Mexican joint! The moment I saw the menu I knew this place would be unique, and it didn't disappoint. :) Let me preface this review with a few points. It was our first visit, and I had a serious craving for Mexican food, and I was prepared to be underwhelmed as I have been with several other local places. If you look over the menu it's not the same few ingredients served as a taco, enchilada or nachos, or the like. It features unique Latino-Asian fusion items like sushi and ramen along with the regular Mexican fare. Today was our first time. I started with a michelada (that's a beer based Bloody Mary. I chose Tecate light as I was counting carbs -haha!). The base mix combined with the lime and rim spices - pure heaven! Hubby had his usual Negra Modelo. Hubby's shrimp soup was delicious - it was a cold tomato base soup chock full of yummy veggies and shrimp. It's a weekend special item, so be sure to try that. I had the birria tacos. The accompanying consommé for dipping this cheesy beefy delight was on point. I prefer things a bit on the spicy side, so I added some hot sauce to the consommé. We also had the chorizo cheese dip. It was good. Our server was friendly and efficient. Good service. The vibe is casual. Music was upbeat. The decor theme is the day of the dead. A fun departure from the typical resort style decor. We'll definitely be back. I have a few more menu items to try.

Our server was wonderful and attentive, however the food was less than impressive. The grease used to fry the chips needed to be changed. The carne asada taco was good except for all of the gristle pieces (it was seasoned well, fresh tortillas). The chicken taco was also good except for the gristle pieces - just wasn't trimmed well. The refried beans were warm, not hot, that was concerning. I really wanted this meal to be better, especially after seeing the good reviews. Maybe it just wasn't a good day in the kitchen, but consistency is pretty important.

Visiting from Chicago, we stopped here and had a very good meal. My wife had 3 tacos, steak, shrimp and pastor and loved them plenty of flavor and meat. I had the chicken enchiladas, though very flavorful the chicken was a little dry and the meat was sparse. Same with my mom's carnitas burrito. $3 margarita special was very good too! Highly recommended, but stick to the tacos.

I used the drive thru window. Service was very good.

The burrito would have been fantastic if EVERY piece of steak wasn’t gristle.

I got the food on my way to work so there’s no chance I’d bring it back.

Every piece of steak was gristle that I had to remove from my mouth with napkins. WTH?

Service is a 3 because the people I came in contact with were fantastic but the personnel responsible for prepping and for placing GRISTLE in my food deserve a 0. Who the hell does that?

I will eat here again with my wife. We’ll eat in. The reason is because the people seemed very nice and the place seems like a great place. I can’t help but believe that I experienced an exception and I’d like to have a chance to provide a much better review.

Hopefully, someone of significance will see this review and address whoever is responsible for prepping, providing the cook with, and serving the customer GRISTLE.

I am glad I ordered a burritos that also contained shrimp. At least there was something I could enjoy after removing all that gristle...

Today I decided to try a new restaurant. A customer of mine came is and had some tacos that smelled delicious, I asked him where he got them, he said L' Patron. I decided I would go there and give it a shot. I got a Chorizo burrito for lunch. They made it exactly as I asked.. unfortunately, I did not know it also came with Pico on it so I was unable to eat it as I do not like Pico at all. I called then and they said to come in when I get out of work and they would fix it. I did and they did.. I also added some Carne Asada street tacos for my wife... the food was absolutely delicious and my burrito was pretty big. The service was VERY friendly and the food couldn't be better. I absolutely will return, quite frequently for my lunches. Thank you to the friendly staff and kitchen staff for fixing my mistake and making a phenomenal meal....
