New China — Restaurant in Decatur

This is our favorite choice for To Go Chinese in Decatur. Every new dish we try is always amazing & our favorites are always rarely deviate in quality...if they do, the change is always better flavor. No matter when we go in, the staff are always polite & helpful regardless of how busy they are. I especially love being able to call ahead to pick up. It generally takes about 20 minutes & the food is waiting, HOT, cooked to order & boxed perfectly for transport. The best part...the price per portion is exceptional! The amount I pay for dinner for three also provides lunch for all of us for at least two days after & these are definitely leftovers my family won’t turn down. Wow I was majorly disappointed this evening I went to New China in Decatur Al and wow I live in Trinity a good 15 to 20 min away and my order was really hot when I got to it upon opening the hot and sour soup it tasted mostly of Vinegar and sot the sour right I am guessing the Hot was because it was hot but it was not as good as in the past nice thick soup but this more watery,I also got shrimp Lo mein and It was swimming in sauces i I asked to make it spicy it was not and my shrimp was like chewing leather it was tough noodles was good but not much flavor for a Spicy shrimp lo mein...

I could not hear over the phone when I tried to place my order, so I decided I would go in and order. We got our food togo and everything was SO hot and fresh even by the time we got home. (10 mins or so) I ordered coconut chicken w/fried rice, and small chicken lo mein, both of which were delightful. We got a crab rangoon type appetizer and it was good, just not exactly what I was expecting it to be in terms of filling. In all my food cost $23.** and I was shocked how much food we actually have!
