Cook Out — Restaurant in Decatur

The food itself it's actually awesome, by far the best around, when they prepare what you order. Which for us, was only one time out of six visits

We finally decided to stop trying Cookouts in Decatur, AL after our 6th try and getting our order wrong the last five .

Our first visit, we ordered two burgers, both the same. We received our burgers and they were by far the best in the area.

Each time after, we visited with three to six people ordering 6 to 10 burgers and each time all burgers were made incorrectly. This resulted in driving around and getting back in quite a long line or walking up to the window and waiting a rather long time to have your order remade. And, again, this happened five visits in a row.

I actually spoke with manager and called corporate three times because it really would be nice to have some quality food in our area. I suggested that a lot of the problems could be prevented if they had a screen that allows you to see your order as it's taken like most other fast food drive-thrus have. Or if they at least repeated your order back to you after taking it, which they don't.

Each time we left cookouts after returning our order and getting our money back, we proceeded just down the street to Wendy's drive through. Of course, the food at Wendy's is not nearly the same caliber as cookouts, but they get our order right every time.

If Wendy's can get it right, there has to be a way that...

UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT BE WARNED! Our once favorite go to burger joint is slipping! The last 2 times our order had been COMPLETLY wrong! The meals were given to us as single burgers, the burgers were completely wrong and slapped together, we paid full price, and were rushed through too fast to even check our order. When we later tried to call the phone # goes streight to cooperate. Until they pick back up their game we will no longer be wasting our $ here. So sad

They offer box meals that come with 2 sides and a drink that will without a doubt fill your gut and spare your wallet. You can order a diet soda saving you some calories or go all out and choose from the largest selection of milkshakes I've seen. If you are not happy with any of their creations you can even customize your very own milkshake. They offer lettuce wrapping any of their sandwiches if you are looking to be healthier. I've been here a few times... I did enjoy the first few times.... However, tonight I made an order of the chicken sandwich it was cooked too long .. the hotdog was cold in the center and I ordered a cheerwine float..... Only to get a thick chunk of ice cream w a splash of cheerwine.... When I pulled up they gave me the wrong food..... They realized and took it back.... Hope they didn't serve it to the other customer... It was in my car and handed back over... I believe that is against regulations during this Corona pandemic.... Anyway I gave the girl a 10.00 and I was owed $3.47 back.... She plopped the three in my hand and said " we don't have any change" That was unacceptable to me.... That's highway robbery just plain theivery!!! I waited for my change while recording the rest of my experience..... Geez really these ppl! I don't get robbed by the drive...
