===Poorly managed.=== Before I get into the experience, I must state that the entire meal was comp'd. But, it should never have gone that far if the mgr was doing her job. I've eaten at Monical's for about 56 years and never seen this much chaos.
No one was taking names for the arriving dining room customers. When we did get a table (1st one at entrance) we were told that it was busy and they would take our order in 15 minutes. It was actually closer to 40 minutes. The pizza finally arrived 1hr 55min after that. All booths were full or dirty. All tables had large parties. The front counter was busy with take out, that never seemed to wait more than 5 minutes.
Take out was obviously the 1st class service.
The delivery drivers were goofing off in the back room. The wait staff in the dining room were swamped, tired and really needed help clearing tables (a great opportunity for the driver's to do something other than spray each other with the water nozzle).
The large table beside us got some of their food after 90 min and sandwiches arrived well after they were done eating and ready to leave. (more comp'd business). When the mgr 1st appeared (upon request), it was her only time in the dining room over the 2.5 hours we were there.
Dining room was obviously 3rd class service. (assuming delivery was 2nd).
Why was the pizza so late? Mgr said "We're under staffed and we had to warm up the brick ovens after each pizza."
SERIOUSLY?!?
Put the drivers to work cleaning tables, as hosts, anything to help. The dining room should not work like slaves while other staff is playing. I've never heard of brick ovens with a temperature problem! That's why they are lined with brick, so they are a constant temp. The number of seats in the dining room throttle how many orders it can produce, but your takeout and delivery seem to have no throttle and is overloading your pizza maker. Get it under control. Comp'ing so many meals may seem like the best reactive way to make customers happy, but proactive actions by mgt should have avoided...
Read moreIt was the most horrible dine in experience ever. To start our food took 40 mins, our appetizers can out with our pizza, and everything was cold. My daughter ordered a meatball sub it was cold and soggy she wouldnt even touch it. The waitress went to fill drinks called mine a pepsi (i hate pepsi) and ran off b4 i could even answer.. we had to reuse our salad dishes for our pizza . There were 5 of us she brought 3 plates and 3 forks ..On top of the bad service 6:00 they are vacuuming around us (blowing dust in the air around our food) and stacking chairs we couldnt even talk to eachother the vaccum was so loud.. It was a rough day my husbands grandma was dieing we just left there and the atmosphere was one we couldnt even talk to eachother defeating the purpose of a dine in experience..we never got a check either had to go up and get...
Read moreOrdered pick up- was given part of someone else’s order and then saw the pizza was wrong. Took it back in to be corrected- girls behind the counter didn’t know I was waiting and started talking bad about me. (They didn’t like how I said my order was all wrong.) I stood up and pointed out talking bad about customers is rude- no one apologized. Got my second pizza- asked to speak to a manager- I said mistakes happen but it is not okay for employees to talk bad about customers. Manager started raising her voice to me- I restated they did not handle the situation well- Then she began yelling at me so a second manager came over and stepped in- It’s NOT OKAY To TREAT...
