RACIALLY PROFILED. 0/10z I’ve been a regular at this Pita Mediterranean restaurant for quite some time, but after my experience today, I am deeply disappointed and will not be returning. I called in to place a simple to-go order, which I’ve done many times before. I spoke with the owner, Alex, and asked for the Gyro fries with my happy hour special. Initially, he told me I couldn’t order them, but when I offered to pay an additional $1.85, he agreed. I thought everything was settled.
However, when I arrived to pick up my food, I experienced something that left me feeling uncomfortable and disrespected. As I sat in my car eating, the owner, Alex, rushed out to his Toyota parked next to my Mercedes. He quickly grabbed money from his glove compartment while I was sitting there, and the entire interaction felt tense and inappropriate. His behavior, particularly the way he seemed to be rushing and looking at me with suspicion, created a highly uncomfortable atmosphere.
As an African-American woman, this encounter was especially disheartening. I’ve supported this business by spending my hard-earned money, but this situation made me feel like my presence was not valued, solely based on the color of my skin. It’s important to spend money within your community, but experiences like this remind us that not all businesses treat their customers with the respect they deserve. Racial bias, whether intentional or not, still exists, and it’s a reality many of us face.
I’ve always believed in supporting local businesses, but it’s equally important that businesses show respect to all of their customers. Sadly, I can no longer support this...
Read moreI went to the 2125 N Decatur Road location on 11/1/22. I am always polite and profession to people serving my food so I asked for a gyro bowl. The manager was so rude to me for no apparent reason at all. She was of Asian or Pilipino heritage and spoke to the only other woman in their language. The other server started cutting fresh slices on meat to put in my bowl but the supervisor (or so she seemed) told her in their language to give me some other meat. I asked the server for extra tahini sauce. She was going to give it to me for free when her supervisor told her no and said to me that it would cost a dollar. She was so rude to me and I did nothing at all. I told her that I would still like the extra tahini sauce and I will pay for it. I paid for the food and the sauce and left. When I got back to my office and opened my bowl, the food looked like it had been sitting there for days. I should have taken a picture of it. I ate some of the rice and salad but the gyro lamb meat was old, dried up and stale. Why would anyone serve a new and respectable customer this? And she was so rude to me also. I will never go back there and I suggest that...
Read moreOmg, the customer service was 💯 everything that I needed today!! The food was fresh and hot! The SAUCES👉👉👉👉 was fantastic! The white SAUCES: Tzik and Creamy are pretty mild in flavor which puts me in the mind like a sour cream and or a mayo-ish sour cream taste. The other white, kinda thick sauce was GARLIC! This one, hands down, was and still is my favorite sauce beside the red one you will see below! The red sauce is kinda spicy but not too much. The orange sauce has the taste of the white sauce mixed with red one. Anyways, enough about the SAUCES. Everything was very clean and organized. Pita M has drink refills. There are handicapped ♿️ accessible restrooms as well. They have booster seats for the little ones! Spacious enough to stretch your legs and spread out! They always have a side or meal deal Top notch fresh food! Vegan options are available just ask before meal preparation! So if yall decided to trek on over to this side of town to eat, that would make for an excellent choice! Health dept score 97-100!! Happy chow down! 5 star visit...
