I was quite excited to try this newly opened establishment, having eagerly anticipated its launch. Unfortunately, our lunchtime visit didn't fully deliver on expectations.
Upon arrival, we stood about for a bit before being acknowledged. The greeter informed us it was an all-you-can-eat restaurant and enquired if we'd visited before. Curiously, despite being 30 minutes past opening, we were the only patrons. More disappointingly, the sushi conveyor belt—a key attraction—wasn't operational during weekday lunches, something not clearly communicated on their website.
The ordering process was rather disjointed. We received an iPad for meat selections, but oddly, sushi options weren't included. We had to request these separately through our server, who unfortunately couldn't answer basic questions about the sushi ingredients, admitting she rarely ate sushi herself. While it might have been her first lunch shift, her knowledge was noticeably lacking.
There were further hiccups—we ordered spicy rice cakes listed on the lunch menu, only to be told after some delay that they're exclusively available during dinner service. Peculiar menu organisation, indeed.
On a positive note, the food quality was generally good. The garlic pork and Hawaiian bulgogi were particularly scrumptious, and the sushi, when it finally arrived, was rather tasty. However, the banchan (side dishes) didn't quite measure up to those at Iron Age in Toco Hills.
Whilst the restaurant has potential, our experience was marred by service inconsistencies and unexpected limitations. We'll likely return for dinner to experience the revolving sushi as intended, but our inaugural visit left room for...
Read moreBe advised, the lunch menu is for Monday-Fri only. The dinner menu is used for the weekends all day. We came in with ZERO expectations as we always do to a location that just opened. This place is hands down super amazing and to be living so close is a huge plus. Now I don’t have to drive 30+ minutes for decent sushi. The conveyor belt the sushi rotates on is CHILLED and the sushi is covered which I love. It’s all incredibly FRESH!!! All the BBQ is delivered by truck or train on the top conveyor belt. While there was plenty of sushi, with new sushi plates being added while we were there, the KBBQ is a little limiting than other places I’ve been to, but that’s fine the sushi was the star of the show. The sushi looks like it’s designed to take you from Breakfast to Lunch and to Dinner with the sushi’s getting heavier and more flavorful towards the end of the line. You have to try their mango dessert sushi roll, it’s the best. The seaweed salad was fresh and the cheese corn was delicious and sweet. You order everything on a tablet which I love and the customer service is out of this world. We were never left with any dishes on our table as they were taken promptly. I can’t say enough about the customer service, they really made us feel like we were at home and among friends. I will be back and with more friends! I was in heaven the entire time...
Read moreI went on Sunday evening for sushi. They have an all you can price for sushi only, Korean BBQ only and BBQ and sushi.
I came for sushi only. I don't understand the concept of going to a restaurant to cook your own food, so I was not interested in the Korean BBQ.
The sushi was basic. Basic sushi options that you can get from grocery store. No special sushi roll options available..what is available on the conveyor belt is all you have to choose. Some of the sushi was cold like straight out of the refrigerator. A big turn off for me. I don't like cold sushi. I expect freshly made sushi to be warm or room temperature. So, I seriously doubt this restaurant was making fresh sushi rolls.
I wouldn't recommend. If you do for it is more cost savings to get the all you can eat sushi for abiut $29. They have a option to be charged 2.75 per plate. Of you get about 9 plates that would equate to the all you can eat price. They are 3 pieces of sushi...
